@@ecueto395 so, the surgeon said it takes about a year to feel normal again. Surgery was Jan 25th. First couple of days and weeks are terrible. Make sure to have someone come take care of you and get yourself a scooter. But you can walk on it again surprisingly fast. It's June now, but it's still not 100%. I can't run yet. It still gets sore and my Achilles is still really tender. Hopefully you got someone whose not afraid of feet so they can massage them haha

Thank you for explaining the difference. I asked my podiatrist today about botox and PRP but she said there are no proven studies and there is a 50/50 chance. From what I know about PRP, it seems to work...for the most part. Botox on this part of the body is new. annnnd because the FDA hasn't approved it, it's not covered by insurance. There are alot of treatments that work that are not approved by the FDA or have had many studies. I give you one example, Herbs for many health issues, Yes it takes longer and may not be for everyone but they do work. Anyway, Thanks again for the breakdown of all three procedures.

I am so happy with my feet ! I had my left foot done last year, and my right foot done last month. My surgeon corrected my very severe bunions, with a Lapidus procedure, rotated the Halux and inserted titanium plates and screws, and also did the Atkins Osteotomy. I don’t mind being off my foot, it is long term success that I want, not a “ Quick Fix” only to have the bunions “ recur “ in a few years . I have complete confidence in my Orthopedic surgeon, I did my research and actually decided on his Medical Practice which is an hour’s drive from my home. ( The two big, local hospitals did not offer modern procedures, only old fashioned bunioneictomies). I would advise anyone to do their research, and to borrow or purchase a Knee Rover, don’t even waste your money on crutches. Be well! And thank you to this doctor who posted this honest, informative video😊

I had this surgery, combined with an Achilles lengthening and a Kidner's procedure to remove a very large accessory navicular bone all at once. I am on week 7 with a cast now. Getting the cast off in a few days and then it's into a boot and I'll be beginning weight bearing. I have severe atrophy in my leg muscles, and I doubt I'll be able to walk very well for several weeks, and then onto rehab. God knows how long this will take.

I had a cheilectomy in 2014. It wasn't that successful but reduced pain. My toe is stiffening up again. Frustrated that I can't do things like walking lunges or sprint. Running with Hoka trainers is fine though. Pain is starting to kick in so wondering if this a robust option that will support running and carrying weight on my back when I go hiking

just do not do it. Multiple reasons.. i had both implants removed in last 2 years. 1st reason. this will not last forever.. it will degrade. it can shift, it will still hurt your bone and you will feel it everyday (just like any metal). Stability is also not great. Push-off is minimal. you get a 20% version of a normal toe, just fake in every aspect. Fusion is the only way to go

Thanks for explaining the differences! Had 2 consultations with foot Dr’s for bone spurs on the back of the heel. One wants to completely remove the achilles to remove a bone spur and the other Dr wants to do some kind of achilles anchoring also messing with the achilles. I had an MRI and it shows a healthy strong achilles with no minor or major tears so Im hesitant to mess with the achilles at all. Im seeing a Dr at Cleveland Clinic that does the tenjet procedure as I feel that may be my best course of action. Thank you for the information!!

Correct. Heel spurs will not go away on its own and topaz won’t work. They need to remove it via incision. If you have a good foot doctor the incision could be an inch or less and you’ll be back on your feet in 3 weeks

How was the recovery? I wore a sock today (8 days after the surgery) and hurt so bad!! Maybe I’m a bit to anxious. I was unable to use shoes, except for a couple of tennis that were to loose due to years of use. I play soccer and after 40 minutes with my soccer shoes I felt that indescriptible pain in my toes, and sometimes felt like crying honestly. One of the worst pains I’ve ever experienced.

I had an ankle tendon graft surgery about 14 years ago, due to multiple ankle sprains. I recently sprained this same ankle pretty bad, and my ankle is now swollen extensively. There’s no bruising, just pain and swelling. And I’ve followed normal rice techniques since. I’m not sure what the odds are that I tore the graft or not. I just know I don’t want that surgery again.
