They sound quite different. From experience of using a real plexi for many years, I'd say the Kemper sounds closest. I know other channels have performed profile null tests, and ToneX always comes out looking quite good in those, but in this comparison, I definitely prefer the Kemper.

I installed it a while back, but Pro Tools would hang/crash with it in my plugins folder. I'm on Mojave, so it might be an OS compatibility thing. Probably best... Between TH-U and Amplitube, I've got more than enough tones to work with.

The only thing that struck me was that they instruct to put two springs, but I see that you have installed 3 springs. Any difference?
@DeangerSmith19 күн бұрын
I really can't remember why I put three, it's been a long time, but I think it's because I found the trem to be too light to the touch, next time I change strings (not sure when) I'll try two springs and see if it jogs my memory.

Your review about the Vegatrem please. I am going to get one.
@DeangerSmith26 күн бұрын
It's everyrthing Vega claims, I put it on my Mex Strat, I have never in my life had such a killer trem on any of my Fenders, excellent in my opinion, it does exactly what a floating trem does without actually being a floating trem. Holds tuning like a boss, it's extremely sensitive to touch, smooth, a pure joy to work with, this video wasn't really about the trem, I thought about doing a Vegatrem review but there's hundreds all over youtube so decided not to.
@SwapnenduKar26 күн бұрын
@DeangerSmith Please do one. There aren't many, honestly... By the way thanks for explaining. Just curious, does it cause string breakage due to too much abuse? I mean if I dive out the bridge...
@DeangerSmith26 күн бұрын
@@SwapnenduKar I'll get one done this weekend, I have not yet snapped a string, that's one of the first things I tried, honesly I have abused the hell out of it with dived and pull ups all the way, no snaps yet. I have guitars with Floyds & Gotoh floating trems on them, so I am no stranger to abusing trems, this thing really is a marvelous piece of engineering.

@@DeangerSmith Thank you so much. Which string set do you use and gauge?
@DeangerSmith26 күн бұрын
@@SwapnenduKar Most welcome, I use GHS Boomers, different guages for different guitars, mostly 09-42, 10-52, and Zakk Wylde Boomers for down tuning on baritone etc. Also Rev. Willy's Billy Gibbons 07-38 on an SG, very thin and fun for different things.

@@DeangerSmith From your video, obviously missed it.
Not the same kit. Steven Slate had to use a bunch of different tricks to get that sound. Black Album Drums is LITERALLY the exact kid used by Lars, done with the same studio with the engineer that was on the session. The SSD kit sounds like the album, BFDs sounds like the actual kit in the room.
