Ах, как жаль, что Алексей ушел из Мариинского театра!

This is perhaps one of the most emotional and one of my favorite scenes in any Nutcracker production. This part is the happiest that Masha (Clara) and the Nutcracker Prince can be in the magical realm of Confiturenburg; to admit, it's kind of a shame that story-wise both of them get the middle finger during the apotheosis in this version. Nevertheless I respect Chemiakin's dedication to drawing more on Hoffman's quirky spirit, and I wish there were an official DVD/Blu-Ray release of his "Magic Nut" ballet (based off of the transformation of Drosselmeyer's nephew into the Nutcracker doll).

The best Nutcracker I ever seen. She is a ballet miracle, Shemyakin scenography is amazing :-) I alway watch this performance with crazy looking Valery Gergiev as a conductor and wanderful team of dancers...Thank you.

Very impressive performance. Valeria Martynyuk is really beautiful.

Alina's speed, Vika's musical phrasing. I stay with Vika's because she seems in total control of what she's doing, so in sync with the music, as if the music itself emanates from inside her body. Alina tends to be unable to keep that supporting leg en dehors, but i do have to say her improvement since her early years in Kirov to this video recording and to today's performances is astounding.

The bad thing that Somova does on her fouettes is that her standing leg plies paraller!!!
