Hello - my name is Nic Greene (geralldus on YT) and I'm making a short video to celebrate the upcoming return of 35005 to traffic on the Watercress Line. I wonder if I might use a couple of short clips from your excellent videos, attribution would of course be given. Thanks

Wait, are these trains regular scheduled passenger trains, or are they just excursion trains?

Hello Great Video. Do you have pictures from the brunigline that you would share? Im from this region and ive missed in my early years to take fotos from the "old" Zentralbahn. Thank you for your response.

What exactly was the man in the small diesel engine at 4:40 handing to the engineer in the train just as it topped the hill? Could it have been permission to continue on up the line?

This locomotive is mostly use for departemental trains :mounting (spring) and unmounting (autumn) of electric contact line on the upper section. Passenger trains are pushed by old electric locomotives. Only 3 - 4 passengers trains with steam each year.

Why would 354 people give this video a thumbs down? What's wrong with it? I'm not huge fan of European trains, but this is an interesting video. It's fun to see what they're doing over there. Thanks for posting. By the way, what's the third rail for I noticed in some of the scenes?

The locos and coaches have an good resemblance with the ones used at Nilgiri Mountain Railways and Darjeeling Mountain and Railways :). Guess they were all made after a careful study of how Swiss made these mountain railways.
Great video. What's teh maximum gradient on the rack section?

Actually it is ON it. The side tanks carry the water and coal (or oil) is carried in a bunker across the back. The larger locos are what we in the US call a 2-6-0 T or Europe is a 1-3-0 T(tank). The smaller locos are 0-4-2 T or 0-2-1 T. The outside cylinders power the drivers for adhesion and the inside cylinders power the cog wheel for the rack to get up those steep grades. Beautiful locos and country.
