why does this system use red light?can we use white light to inspect?
@SmartVisionLights3 жыл бұрын
Hi 张承宁 This demo is showing two aspects of machine vision inspection. First, we want a good “topside” image to see that the part is correctly assembled, see and check the hex keys, see details around the plastic end caps, etc. For this, we are actually using a white Smart Vision Lights RM140 ring light. Even though this is a monochrome inspection camera, the white light brings out the details and contrast more like your human eyes would see them. Specifically notice the bright green plastic end caps on the 4 corners of the hex key set show up very light in the monitor image. This would be important if we were using the topside image to verify presence of all pieces and correct assembly. In the second part of the demo, we are using the red backlight to highlight the product outline for dimensional verification. In this case, we want to see a black on white image as much as possible. The maximum contrast without greyscale changes in the outline is desirable for consistent results from gauging and other vision tools. In this particular example, the only source of color are the bright green end caps. Since we would like them to show up dark for the dimensional outline, we chose a red light to darken the end caps. To darken a particular color, bright green in this case, we select a color light that is opposite on the color wheel. Red is opposite green. We chose a red light and you can see that the end caps show up almost black as a result. Even though they are actually very bright. White light would also be OK, but not as good for this particular object and color.
