Geddy Lee is so many things , Outstanding Bass Player, Musician, Singer, Song Writer , etc etc. But his personal life is humble, funny as can be and such a caring man to all. I admire all who preserve history. This is a huge gesture of kindness and I thank him for keeping history alive for my Grandchildren and beyond. I’m a Rush fan since 1976. Thank you Geddy and to the Negro League Museum .

I always thought Geddy was a really nice guy. He was always doing nice things for people around him. I also knew he was a big baseball fan and collector. But this still surprised me. What a nice thing for him to do.

White, Canadian, Jewish, Son of Holocaust survivor parents...💑 see now black folk have many a thing in common with other different colored people... so please - people of all diversities need to see that all lives matter 👨🏿🤝👨🏼👩🏿🤝🧑🏼👩🏼🤝🧑🏿👩🏿🤝👩🏿👩🏽🤝🧑🏽👩🏽🤝🧑🏼👩🏽🤝🧑🏻👩🏻🤝🧑🏽👫👩🏿🤝👩🏿👩🏾🤝👩🏽👩🏾🤝🧑🏽👩🏾🤝🧑🏻👩🏾🤝🧑🏿👨🏻🤝👨🏻👬👨🏽🤝👨🏽👩🏿🤝🧑🏾👩🏾🤝🧑🏻👩🏽🤝🧑🏾👨🏿🤝👨🏿 and never judge a book or ball by its cover... thanks again Geddy for your continued generosity around the entire world. ps Ged.. if you want I am opening a Black fender jazz bass museum in my basement if you have anything you would like to display in my museum.. I would likely gladly consider an exchange...? 👌 and ironically I did not read where Kanye or Beyoncé bothered with trying to make any bid on something this important or to want change lives in a positive manner

We have black culture to thank for innovating and pioneering so much great music -- blues, R&B, rock & roll, funk, soul, reggae and more -- not to mention James Jamerson, pretty much the godfather of the electric bass -- that this is just an excellent, small pay back. Good on Ged for doing this.

I knew all about Rush, but I didn't know about Charlie Pride and baseball. I was playing golf at Brookhaven country club in Dallas and noticed the next fairway over, Charlie Pride was playing. I could recognize him, but the fact that it said "CHARLIE PRIDE" about three feet long on the side of his bag was also a hint. I was sitting in my cart after the round, and he walked up and this is EXACTLY what he said: "You got that envelope?" I knew he was screwing with me and I was already smiling. I said "What envelope Mr. Pride?", He said, "the one with the 300 dollars". I was just laughing and told him it was great to meet him and I remembered my father listening to him and the old-school country guys on the radio growing up. We sat there and talked music and recording for probably 30 minutes (I grew up in music and recording engineering, etc.). Finally the young lady he was with showed up and we said goodbye. That's the kind of guy he was to a random 30-year old white guy at the golf course, who happens to have seen Rush in concert about 30 times. RIP Mr. Pride, and Mr. Peart. (Neil Peart, incidentally, answered a letter I wrote to him as a teenager- which I gave to their merch manager whom I'd become acquainted with while pestering him with my friends in several cities. He was a great man named Mike McLaughlin. A few months later, I checked my mailbox and a hand-written letter with an autographed photo showed up, to my astonishment.) They were all better people than I, but each has inspired me to try harder sometimes :)
