Thanks for this. So once I’ve found that first note, I know what scale I’m in? But what if that note appears in another scale, for example it’s a c, which appears for example in a g scale, how do you know which one the rest of the notes(your melody) are in?

Well I've done that but now the song is not wide enough for stereo anymore, or should I just apply that in just some specific instrument? I make EDM

How is it the best for mixing and mastering? Simply stating that it’s the best for mixing and mastering doesn’t make it so.

Stop spreding misinformation just for views, go educate yourself on the subject you talk about. Clipping isn't compression, it's more like an "amplitude trimmer" that cut everything above the treshold (0db not adjustable in this one but in fruity waveshaper yes). So, the more you clip a sine signal, the more the waveform is cut, the more it look like a square signal. (So the more it have harmonics). The knee ("thres" in fruity soft clipper) will softer the harshness of the cut, that will be less transparent process than an hardclip. Also, clipping is fully transparent when you clip transient cause they are just full noise, so hardclip will add harmonics to noise that is not audible.

This is true I’ve been recording and producing music for a decade now it’s only been the past year or so I’ve been confident in what I’m doing. In my experience the best thing to do is to work really hard mastering your skills for 2-3 year and then put it all to practice as much as you can. Work with musicians and get feedback from others. The BIG game changer too is to use reference tracks listen to the volume, width, tone everything and if the song is similar to the one you’re working on then copy it. Try to get your mix to sound as close as possible and then you will start to learn how to mix and master properly. From a creative point of view just try stuff, reverse guitar parts, automate a massive reverb on a vocal for one powerful word. Work hard and experiment, don’t think too much about it and if it sounds good it sounds good. Sending love from Glasgow ❤
