What I am starting to realise is that although you lose 400-500mm of the width in tubes, you at least gain 'cause you can walk than entire width and stand with no trouble.This would be even better than a Jon boat or punt,because you have all that outboard flotation from the tubes. Serious room value.

Does the boat plane properly with this motor? If not, have you tried trimming the outboard, or moving weight forward to lower the nose? Not trying to preach, just looking at buying this exact craft and deciding what outboard to choose etc.

It takes forever to get on plane and if you don’t have any weight in the front it more than likely won’t. I had gear up front and would lean forward to get it to plane. On a lake it wouldn’t be terrible but I put a 30hp on it and cruise all over the open ocean

Epic, my cousin is a Wasano and put me on your channel… He said that you are an incredible fisherman and person. We always launch Oside and fished the Barn Kelp Sunday and a few other spots with clean water but just mackerel and calicos… Hopefully those Dodo’s come back from a couple years ago

Hey, sorry I just say this, I fished mostly out of Oceanside California. North county San Diego. Not a lot of people give it much attention. They launch there to hit the inner banks (209, 181 and 182) but there’s always fish to be had there.

I have a handheld VHF and epirb. In the video I’m 8-12 miles out, I’ve taken it over 30 miles off shore but usually there is no need.

No PFD, no PLB, no tether, no kill cord and your RTE is at the BOTTOM of your flag pole!!! Kids, this is the DEFINITION of how NOT to boat on the ocean.

I actually do have an inflatable waist belt PFD with an Epirb on it and have my kill cord attached to my waist while underway. I also have a life vest and throwable PFD under the kill bag and two hand held radios. Not sure what an RTE is but I probably have that covered too

Amd this is why I do t use galfs or anything fight it let it get really tired then turn them on there back and tow it to shore when all sharks are on there back they relax lesson leanr 😂that kid got more blank then me I would have been screaming go faster tho kid was calm as hell mom gonna lol dad tho 😂😂😂. It’s a bolt on transom mount rod holder off Amazon. They’re like $40 each and then a drop in swivel from Tigress that way I can remove the swivels to use extensions and angled rod holders for drifting halibut and seabass

Bro I followed your IG and ordered an SK470XL. Bought a used 8hp mercury. Excited to get this thing in the water! How long does it take the DMV to send the paperwork? My kaboat is set to arrive tomorrow and I plan to go to the DMV the moment I can 😂

Bro I ran mine without registration for like 5 months but it takes 20 mins at the DMV. I went to San Clemente because they only deal with US citizens so the line is super short. All the others are packed with people getting driving permits. Good luck out there!

Would a 6hp outboard do well? I noticed you have a 9.8. I want the 13 foot version and plan to fish solo but occasionally with someone not too far offshore

A 6hp will work fine for inshore and bay fishing. I used the 9.8 at about half power 99.9% of the times but when wind and swell picked up it was nice to have the extra power to get into the harbor ahead of swells and carry 100lbs of fish in the bag

This is completely Unsafe. First of all you don't have roller guides and the drags too loose, you can easily be dragged out of that boat at night while it drives away and then the sword fish will come for you. In the dark 9 miles out😂
