I hear some white stuff came down in your neck of the woods. Yeah I had a few cars that I wish I still had. My 70 Swinger 340 4 speed would be nice to have today or the car that I gave to my wife. It was a 66 LeMans with a 326 4 speed and AC, a really nice car. But I could really use my 62 International pickup right now. It would make going to Home Depot a lot easier than putting the stuff in my minivan. Happy Motoring.

@@angelowwww I'm sorry I thought you meant the intake tube there should be a bunch out there just look up how to change the spark plugs on one and it should give you step by step how to remove the plenum or the upper intake.

First mistake is TDC since these and virtually all engines fire BTDC. You are right about the cap location for the primary wire box.

Yes it did help. Thank you. You explained that much simpler than anyone else has. Awesome, I will be driving my 79 corvette by the end of this weekend . Thanks again.👍🏼
@scottsinfl18 күн бұрын
Corvettes are the reason I do it this way. I worked in a vette shop in the early 80's when I built the motor I wanted it the fire on the first few turns for break in.

You mention you will be doing further work so I wont be a jerk and assume. I'll say this independently, do not do this with bearings you plan to use.

In 10 minutes - Watched your video twice - spent about as much time to swap out the points distributor with an HEI. One other place suggested a little lube on the gears, only thing I done different. Thanks - Brilliant video. Done Pearl Harbor Day on a 1942 Ford GPW (stationed at Pearl) w/ '70 Corvette 350 under a '59 Mighty Mite Body

One question. You say set cylinder 1 to TDC, other vids or articles say 10-12deg before TDC. Does your method add some advance somehow? Cheers.

Yeppers good job just watched your vid to verify I'm doing it right, works every time, and I would add just put a wire on number one set the crank on 10` btdc with ignition on rotate slowly till it fires number one and lock her down , your timed at 10 degrees before tdc and she will run like a top

So nice to see single cabs still on the road. Up here they are rare. Only club cabs and crew cabs up here these days. I don't think any automaker even makes single cabs any more and that is a shame. She'll look good when it is all done. God bless you folks and keep you all safe.

You want to drop it in at 5 or 10 degrees not on O on the TDC or you will not have enough play on your distributor I just found out
@scottsinfl2 ай бұрын
But if I add that step in most folks will get more confused and to most people its intimidating just trying to do a distributor so I tried to keep it simple as I could and that's the way I do it. Thanks for watching.
@buddyb4183 ай бұрын
I must have watched 50 videos on how to do it. Every time I would try to stab it and get it to point at number one on top dead center, It would either be pointing to number 3 or 5. or at my thermostat housing LOl. The oil pump drive thing is pure brilliance... Thank you, sir. This video got you a new subscriber 😊
