So if an upperclassman doesn't hit those marks then they are just off the team or running unattached at local meets club style? Geez that's a pretty high bar but hard to argue with the results. I feel like it would be hard to keep the team social dynamic when everybody is on a one year contract.

It's important to note that the marks set for each class are a general guideline, but not the rule. Upperclassmen who are injured/sick for the alumni meet will often be put on the roster based on what they've done in the past. As for team social dynamics, I'd say the team does a great job keeping the non-roster guys as a part of the family.
