Performing this for tomorrow morning, you're a lifesaver my dude! Helped me figure out some quick parts I can lean on in the event that I need them :) Terrific tone by the way! Can you give me a quick rundown of what you used on your board? Sounds sick!

Dude I glad to hear that! I apologize for this delayed response as I didn’t get a notification for it! How’d your event go? Sure thing! So for this I ran my Walrus audio compressor into my Zvex Sho. Both of these which are almost always on. For my drive I used my JHS Superbolt. On EG2 I use the Benson Preamp instead as I run that with a little less gain. As for delays and verb, I used. Tape Delay setting on my Strymon Timeline and I used a cloud setting in my Strymon BigSky. 👍🏻

Sounds great! But couple questions. Are you playing the Verse(s) clean and if so how are using OD(s) w/o pressing a pedal(s)?? If not playing clean how do you get that clean-like tone with an OD on? Thanks!
@chadryan90224 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Great questions! For both Verses I am playing clean with a hall reverb, no OD's. Haha that's a fair question too - I run an RJM Mastermind PBC on my board. Long story short, all my pedals are hooked up to the Mastermind and then I run a usb cable from the Mastermind to my computer. I setup midi clips in my Ableton Live session at specific points in the song to send midi changes to my Mastermind which will then turn certain pedals on and off. To answer your other question, in the EG2 video I posted (I didn't use this method on EG1) I'm actually playing the Intro and Verses with my Benson Preamp turned on. However you don't really hear the break up in the guitar playing until I get into the PreChorus. To keep it clean like that with the OD on comes down to your picking and playing dynamics. As long as your OD isn't set to be super gainy (try having the gain turned down quite a bit with the volume knob turned up more) you shouldn't haven a problem picking notes lightly and/or doing whole notes softly. Don't dig into the strings too much until you need to cause that's when you'll hear the nice breakup when you need the drive. I run two different overdrives, one that has light gain on it and another that's my big drive. Hope this helped answer some questions!
