Wicked Ones does a great mechanical representation of playing monsters.

Classic game. Still holds up. One of the very best superhero RPGs of all time. It's a shame Golden Heroes isn't better known.

Sad new that's come very late for me. Was just searching for anything about Mike when your podcast came out top. I remeber Mike from around 1981 when he was an active part of a roleplaying group in Huddersfield and he ran the first ever dungeon I was a part of. Met him again years later when he worked in the games industry and was just searching for a way to reach out to him today..:( the plus side is now I have stumbled across your podcast, it's now in my feed with so many back episodes to catch up on...

The Hobbit game! That started it all for me as it came with the novel which I read hungrily. I have been a Tolkien fan ever since and when the Warlock of Firetop Mountain Spectrum game came out again with the book I devoured that too. From there it was off to White Dwarf and Rpgs. Great memories.

Thank you for this video. Is there any chance you have a copy of the errata for the original version of Golden Heroes?

Thanks for the link to the covers. Sunday, cup of tea, flashbacks. 1st one I bought was 27...for reasons.

I'm not really bothered if roleplaying has peaked or not, when it peaked in the 80's it was quite a blow in some ways but now I have more material than I can ever hope to run as it is.

Oh yeah I didn't mind the inappropriate armour, mostly anyway, especially if it was the kind of 'Barbarian' style art, it made it exotic and was the right kind of silly if that makes sense. Love that McCaig piece, the sorceress in pinks and blues..

The Scout/Courier 'Tin Mutha' was the venue for my first ever 'Traveller' session. Burned in my memory! Great days! And yes, I have suffered the ignominy of having a character killed during character creation. Authentic 'Traveller' experience.

This was fantastic. I sincerely hope someone, somewhere, is working on a book or books about the early days of Traveller - it deserves it, just as we've had multiple books about D&D and TSR. Let's get that info immortalized while Marc Miller is still with us!

Great podcast. Very insightful about the 007 RPG. It’s true that people take a lot of the innovations the game came up with for granted nowadays. I’m curious to hear your thoughts on the term “rookie”. I’m from Australia, but it’s the one thing I always found out of place in the game.

This is great. And a nice breakdown of the MSPE rules. Thank you. I ran a decade long campaign of the 007 RPG back in the 20th century, and I’m looking forward to listening to your review of that system. MSPE is one of those games I want to delve more deeply into. I feel it has a lot of potential…

This is a magnificent edition. The engaging artwork truly evokes the unique, fantastical, mythic sense of Glorantha. It borrows heavily (and successfully) from Pendragon by grounding the characters to their communities and the passage of time. Once I saw the Aftermath book in your intro, I knew I’d come to the right place.

I liked Golden Heroes a lot. It had a pretty elegant system and you could get a game together in a reasonable amount of time. I had no idea there was additional expansion and play material outside the initial boxed set.
