In about ten years, John would become a Hellecaster, and play with some dork named Nesmith.

Living in Europe, I never heard about them until long long after they split up. The jackets and hairspray were from another planet, but top drawer material. One of the best bands of ANY genre

Richard Thompson is inspirational. Passion riding on the wave of musical ability that leaves the practicing guitar player in awe, admiration, respect and love. And he writes and sings …. just saying.

he can't sing.People don't like his voice. That's why hes never broken through in a big way.Because of his voice. His guitar playing is excellent.

I don't know why people make such a fuss about Richard Thompson. His voice is so monotone and lacking in color. And theres no point in writing lyrics if your diction is so bad we can't tell what you are singing about.Disappointing all round. He's a competent guitarist but he should be -- hes been playing 55 years. What a let down :-(

RT let his exceptionally talented grandson Zak Hobbs solo. (Son Teddy encored at the Manhattan show in two duets.)

His grandson is a guitar wizard in the making; but then again, its in the blood. Richard continues to be phenomenal.

Ha just listened to this song in my car. I saw Angel in 1979 at the Tower theatre in Upper Darby, PA. When that Angel came out and started talking I thought I’d gone into a different dimension. So great.

Finally caught them at Bloomington IL! This arrangement caught me by surprise there, hadn't heard it before and was awestruck.

When I heard the studio recording of this song, I thought Randy was using a Danelectro Sitar guitar. The song does have that sitar twang sound in it, but I was wrong. It also looks like he doesn't use the 10 string BC Rich Bich or the Mockingbird, but has opted for BC Rich Les Paul style guitars.

Gray Ghost, my 68 primer Gray Chevelle was named after this song after it screamed through the hills of East Liverpool, Ohio, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania!

Hughie wrote this song but was dead more than 10 years when this video was shot. Still not a bad rendition. Henry briefly played with the Outlaws But was gone by the time they did this recording.
