I tried bov VS no bov they both sounded completely different with the 50mm Tial bov it gives that sneeze sound but lower rpm you could hear the flutter but with out bov the flutter becomes louder and louder depending on the rpm

You need a diverter valve… you want compressor surge which is bad. You don’t want a bov either since it dumps to atmosphere and you loose metered air since it goes in after the maf sensor… stop being a ricer and thinking you understand the car better, specially when it’s chag…. He knows the best choices since he has being tuning them now for over a decade.

I do understand that’s it’s really bad for the engine and turbo and every component inside the engine but I love how it sounds with no BOV and I accept the risks that comes with it , I mean if something breaks it’s a reason for me to go bigger and better 😂 Don’t you think?

@@ibobuilds new block is around 8k I doubt that’s worth running the car in the worst way possible,New turbo around 3500. Run the stock diverter with the crush mod done to it if you have the aluminum one…. Bigger and better? The best option is to run the car is its intended design and with you running the div your not loosing hp like you would with a block off plate or a bov. your money do as you please… could also just tighten the spring on the div which would cause the sound but you got to realize that’s not what you want to get the most power out of what you got.

I really do appreciate your advice and concern and taking time from your day to warn me about the risks and advising me to install BOV but I really love the sound and car has been running the same turbo for over a year with no BOV and still no shaft play and turbo is performance is amazing and I’ve owned an EVO X before this one and it ran no BOV for straight 4 years

Dude, Blow off valves are a functional part of a turbocharged system. Let me share some info for you before you make one of the most expensive mistakes of your build. BOV were never designed to enhance sound. They were designed to relive excess pressure. This helps prevent damage that would happen mainly to the turbo and also the engine when the turbocharger compresses too much air in the system. You’ll start noticing boost levels stay elevated when they should be relieved like in between shifts or when you release the throttle after building boost when you’re cruising. That’s called “boost creep.” When you expose the turbo to a lot of back pressure during these moments, you’re causing a lot compressor surge. If you want to run no BOV because you don’t like the sound, be my guest. Just know it’s gonna be one of the most expensive mistakes you’ll learn. For the sake of that engine and turbo, I hope you’ve changed your mind from the time I sent this message. This is the first video I watched from your channel. Just saw the other vids and you put the engine together so you do know plenty. I’m surprised you wanna remove the BOV but hey, I’ll watch what happens. I’ll sub to see how the car runs for a while w/o the BOV once it’s tuned.

I do appreciate the concern and your time to write and advise me to reinstall the BOV but I really love the sound of having no BOV it sounds really nice and I do understand that running no BOV can ruin many components I had another Evo before this one that I currently have and I ran no BOV for 4 years and nothing happed but thank you tho I appreciate your concern
