@ excuse me? What’s your problem man? The park was actively getting covered in racial slurs and falling apart. We repaired damaged concrete on our time. Blank parks invite more vandalism. This has kept the park clean. I’m sorry that you don’t understand the process we’ve gone through here to bring attention and maintenance back to the park, but maybe I’ll catch you at the park sometime while I’m there cleaning or skating so I can explain the plans we have and how we’re getting those plans accomplished. I’m free to meet at the park whenever you’d like so you can better understand what’s happening here and what’s happened here. You should have seen the community come together on paint day. It was amazing. Everyone that cared about the park was there. And the first event thrown afterwards was a huge success in raising money towards a full 50k expansion. I can explain all that to you at the park if you’d like. But I doubt you’d be willing to put in any effort.

@ no? We set up an entire park in the parking lot and invited anyone from the community to come out and join in. Even had a best trick contest and gave away shoes, a complete and a deck for the day. Please stop trying to see bad in something good just to do so. It’s a really miserable way to live. My offer still stands if you’d like to come have a conversation about it. I’ll be at Q skatepark until close today. There’s no reason to get negative about something you won’t take the time to learn about.

that shit isnt graffiti thats little kids with bad parents and access to spray paint. Graffiti is very specific, Its a name. or a crew. very rarely a mural. never in history has any of that chicken scratch been considered graffiti. Im honestly suprised that stupid ass kids even have that much access to paint. And that people arent noticing what is probably 12-13 yr old kids walking around with paint. Arrest them and make there parents pay restitution. That a surefire way to get the parents to pay more attention and discourage little idiots who want to write the nword for fun.

I love Lawrence, as well. It has been my home twice--first time, when I moved to Indianapolis to work at DFAS. I had no idea where I was going or what I was coming to. But there was a place for me, without my even trying. Again, in later years, I needed a home immediately, a safe place to be. And Lawrence was it. Lawrence isn't simply a wonderful town, but an idea with immediate magic and a brillian future.
