Good point but it was still nice to see a paint defender with some sort of shooting abilities, especially since current-gen 2K21 was in its early phase when most players could not shoot and before the introduction of zens

There is no need to mess with your defensive settings to play high IQ defense as long as everyone on your team is on the same page. Make sure to stay on your feet and avoid jumping when not necessary. You can flick the right stick up for a good shot contest. Remember to use L2/LT to enter a low defensive stance. Seek opportunities in the passing lane. Be aware of your surroundings and play efficiently.
