hey man,should i get this keyboard instead of the rh81? i mean, i dont really mind using wired connection. is the rh81 really that different from the r87?

Hello!! Its really up to you for preference and stuff. But for the price difference, I would get the h81. Its a bit smaller than the R87, has tri mode connectivity to boot! If you have a little more extra cash check out the M75. Its higher version of the H81. Its a bit pricier but not too bad.

Hello! When you buy custom keycaps for these, get the ones that has a complete set. Like 150 just to be safe. You’d need like a smaller right shift, and keycaps like pgeup and down, print etc that is for the specific row (i.e. R2 - R3)

Hello! Did you try installing the RK software? It may have a time to how long it will sleep or when it will sleep. I can’t check as I don’t have the H81 with me anymore.

Hello! Pls do Fn+ spacebar for 5 seconds. It will reset the keyboard. It should correct the problem.

This was my first ever full barebone kit to build and it was difficult due to the instructions manual being very poo. Had to search multiple videos to find out where things go and which parts etc. and also I didn't have a partner or friend to help me build it with 😅 got there in the end though and quite happy with mine. Hope ou wife enjoys more builds

Hii!! Dangg. I get it. I just had a bit of knowledge prior to my wife building this because I built the zoom 75. Its a harder build and is not a great starting point for beginners. Im happy you got to build it still. What color did you get? I hope my Wife would build more soon. Haha. If i have any new kits shes definitely building them.

Hey! Im sorry for the lack of replies from their CS. For my case, no designer reached out to me for when I made my own set (one for an event). I just submitted my design and they made that. Also, the delay in replies might be because of the holidays. You might be getting a reply earliest tomorrow, Friday or next week. But i will still reach out to them.

Unfortunately hindi ko na try but sa software sa RKH81, you can assign keys. I think possible yan but hindi ako entirely sure.

Hii! What is your budget range? For 75% or 84% keebs, the RKH81 is really good for the price. If you are in the Philippines, the Rakk Tala is pretty good too.

there's definitely been some hardware revisions to this keyboard since this vid, as my unit has south-facing LEDs and the keycaps appear to be PBT instead of ABS

Nice review! 👍 It looks like your version has no plate because it has pcb mounted stabs.. I've seen other versions having plates and using plate mounted stabs.. I guess these are the versions that can be top mounted.. Do you have any battery life input using this on 2.4Ghz? Thank you in advance.. 🙏🙏🙏

Hiii!! Yeah! My version has no plate but I tried looking for other info regarding possible versions, I was not able to find any. I would've loved the top mount version. That would've been a different experience. I did do some testing with the battery life. In bluetooth mode (Hopefully its the same as 2.4ghz), the battery went from 78% to 0% after four days of use. This is with bluetooth mode with RGB on full. The chonky screen does also play a factor in the battery consumption as well.

Anybody else's backlight just randomly stop working. Still can see the backlight when it boots up or I try to check battery life but it just doesn't stay on the keyboard while typing anymore. Looks like it shorts itself out after initially booting up Edit: I have already tried the FN+spacebar method to reset the keyboard and even see the flash between green to red to blue which signals the reset was complete. Backlight can also be seen pulsing while charging or trying to change brightness so I know the LEDs aren't busted

Hey! Hmmm. I unfortunately have not tried having this problem before. Did you try contacting the company you bought it from? The only fix I know is to do the factory reset which you've done. Also, does this happen when you are plugged in or in wireless mode?

@@XaclainRecords Thanks for helping out on an older post, you definitely deserve more subs! Tried it on a couple other devices and unfortunately got the same results. The software did seem to help out though. Nothing works in the "light effect mode", but if I select all the keys manually in the "custom lights" then it somehow works! Slightly annoying because I can't use all the cool lighting effects but something is better than nothing. Have you ever had any experience with the rk support team? I emailed them and they responded with a program to download so I could give them my PID but it seems a little sketchy.

You’re welcome and thank you so much! I appreciate you very much. I see. Something is probably really faulty with that keeb. Yep. I’ve had the chance to interact with someone from RK before. But she left for another company so I can’t ask for her help. The PID thing is a standard thing they usually ask. It determines the keyboards id so they can see what version it is. (Meaning the earlier versions like in the video or the newer ones with south facing LEDs) You can trust that. I hope it is a firmware version problem only and nothing really serious. Let me know how it goes.

Hii!! Have you tried doing a reset on the keyboard? Press FN + Spacebar for 5 seconds. Hopefully it will reset it and make it work.

@@XaclainRecords I did managed to. I realise the knob is very buggy, sometimes it work to get in the menu sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes only one click without the Fn bring up the menu, sometimes the pinwheel does t work. I got the latest firmware btw

@@XaclainRecords SAdly the display on the knob still show mandarin. Ah I though that "Fn + Knob" only last a few second to get into the menus. In fact the "Fn + Knob" is more of a mode. Meaning after pressing "Fn + Knob", it will switch to the "Settings mode" where pressing the knob will go into setting menu and turning it will not do anything. Will have to press "Fn + Knob" again to switch back to the "multi-media" mode, where pressing is play/pause, turning is volume. Good to know. I keep thinking that "Fn + Knob" only last a few second to get into menus

Got mine. I will not open it up. Lol. I dont think it needs mod. I changed switches for "gaming keys" such as WASD and some other more with Aflion Carrot switches. I just feel better with tactile. Used a PBT KOA (MOA-like) profile keycaps for better feel and sound. Overall, happy about it. Only issue on these keebs is battery life. Even with rgb off. I think the screen sucks off too much

Hello! Unfortunately I cannot check the manual as I don’t have the RKH81 anymore but you can lower the brightness to 0 without using the software.

only issue is battery life. Not bad but not great. It would last a whole day or more w/ RGB turned off but you would definitely need to charge to be sure It won't die while gaming the next day. I use mine for a whole work shift and end up around 50% battery. sometimes more. But compared to my Weikav WK75, which is still 100% after 3-5 days lol. Maybe it's the large knob screen playing GIF the whole time.

Hey! I agree. The battery is meh and for something with this big off a battery is really weird. I also agree with the large knob. I think its one factor as well. The RGB also plays a role in the battery deteriorating fast.

Hello! Thank you so much Welcome to the rabbit hole. That would depend on you really. If it were up to me, I’d get the RKH81. These are similarly priced and is better in my opinion. The R87 can only be used via cable and, because of my preference, I’m not a fan of the RK84’s form. RK87 is okay too if you really like having a TKL size keeb.

I tried downloading the software for this keyboard because I just bought one, but when I click on the file for K75 it tells me that something else is missing from my computer so it can't be opened...I'm really confused and don't understand this tech stuff. I don't understand why it's so difficult??
