The right PCB board top left screw was giving me trouble. Not sure of the screwdriver i got from amazon was the issue or the screw itself was stripped sense the others came out fine. Might look into a better screwdriver but can you buy new screws? I had to put everything back together sadly but i really juat needed the front panel changed cause of my rubber grips peeling but would have looked good with both sides new. Thank you for your time

do NOT buy this product, it doesnt for all of the BDM-050 controllers as there seem to be differences. The support is the worst i ever witnessed. They asked me to simply return the product if i´m not statisfied, lol ok but i cant return the brand new controller which wires i just cut.

A bunch of whiners. No regrets on my end, hopefully my wife lets me shell swap her OLED shell cause this is fun.

I can get the red light to blink if I try to remap 2 buttons, then hold the back button. It cycles through the colors then holds a blinking red light. I release the back button and it will continue to blink until I hold the back/ remap button again and the light will go out, but no remapping occurs.

Took my time, 6 hours teaching kids, etc. pretty sure it is right, clicky triggers work great, but I get no red remap button to work w/ to map the back paddles. I get blue, then green, cyan, and pink lights that will even flash but no red light to remap with. There doesn't seem to be an extreme rate support except for an email, which is sent, posted the question on Discord to the extreme rate forum, I think, not a forum, social platform guy. Help!

anyone else having a problem where the triggers are abit sticky and stiff after the full shell replacement everything else is fine but the triggers get kinda stuck

Good video and really great product. I ruined my gba once when i had the great idea to paint it... Nvm but now thinking i want to buy a new one i saw it costs around 150-200€ right now. And a micro gameboy 600 and more 😮! But on my search i found this product on amazon and it was worth the try! Around 25€ and a hour of work, tadaaa new Gameboy! Im really greatful for that idea guys. And the replacement parts are also nice. Maybe i buy a second kit later and combine the 2 designs just for fun :)

Is it possibile to skip the triggers and joysticks during the install? I just want the face buttons lit, but I don't want to cause a short or something if I don't plug in the ribbons for the joysticks / triggers.

Great video! Here are two recommendations I have: 1. The battery requires a bumper (3M one provided) which is not referenced in the video. Mine is rattling around without and will require disassembly to fix it. 2. After you patiently remove the touchpad circuit board, take a moment to clean the adhesive off. For those purchasing translucent shells, it will be constantly exposed and makes a beautiful controller a bit messy.

I hope in the future your developers will make it possible to remove petals for games in which they are not needed and then easily put them back in and add cobalt blue blue color for rise plus max.

pls be aware that this kit isnt suitable for ALL BDM-050 and if you have one of the versions which dont fit, you wont receive ANY support from extremerate - i wrote Mails, Insta DMs, supplied photos and order numbers - still no help!

There are different versions of the BDM 050 of which Extremerate is aware - still they sell these Sets and doesnt give any support - make sure those trigger stops fit your controller prior to cutting any wires whatever - all i have is plastic waste now wtf.

Super thorough tutorial and amazingly fitting parts but for the life of me I cannot get a clip on the back bottom cover on the left side (as you’re looking at it from the back) to click down smoothly. Looks like at 31:00 the person in the video even takes a few extra pushes to get it in place. I wonder if there’s a slight misalign there in the stock dimensions cause I can’t get the new shell or the stock ones, whenever putting it back together, to fit smoothly. Either way thanks for always making sick tutorials!

One question: will it be possible to remove this cover one day? I just ordered one for my brand new Oled, but I was wondering if once I put this cover on with the stickers it would be possible to remove it safely when you get tired of that aesthetic but without having ugly glue residues on the plastic of the Switch

i installed this with the clicky kit and now my L1 button doesn't work, any reason why?

I followed this as generously as I could but the person taking this apart doesn't seem to be thinking for convenience on the order of steps, some of the band detachment and reattachment could have been done sooner in relation to related part handling, and the speaker stickers for example could have been put on the shell a lot earlier and not doing so makes it harder to line up right. the screw detail was vague and often left me having to wing it on which screws to use especially considering that the kit I bought did not have the smaller sized screws for the monitor included in the package. I could not safely swap out the trackpad shell so I had to skip that, but it still fits with the scheme of the screen and sticks so its acceptable enough. with all that on note, everything seems to work after reassembly, the walkthrough still did its job, so thanks in that sense.

Sup yall, this is actaully super easy to fix, the triggers on JDM/JDS 055 models interfere, so to fix this, just get a pair of JDM/JDS 040 triggers. These should work 👍
