Cherrybomb unit there its apparently very slightly used and well maintained. Looks like its been sitting and probably has a clogged up carburetor due to ethanol exposure like all of em. Very inexpensive fix even with the head replacement. Good luck!

Well, my son and I have registered an LLC for a Lawn Care Company, we are planning to run in our neighborhood. My boy turns 16 next spring, he has a job now but we thought it would be fun to own and run our own business. We just bought 5 echo whips, 1 echo edger, and a Toro whip for a grand total of $60. Two of them run pretty well, you can imagine. LOL. I'll probably watch this video and plenty of others multiple times this winter.... I'm hoping the rebuild of the 6th one will go easier than the rebuild of my first. :). I love you tube, thanks for creating this content. Without it; these sorts of projects would be next to impossible for people like me with little to no experience.

hi; great job on rebuilding SRM210 question if you had to put a speed feed on that same weedeater how would you go about it. what would you take off then what would you end up using with the speed feed also did you happen to see the serial number and model number thank you

Did you find or deal with a lot of carbon build up on the inside of the muffler? What did you use to clean that out -- I see you avoided getting anything on the inside of the muffler. Mine happens to have a lot of both carbon build up and fuel/oil mix, so I am not sure I can soak it and if I do, in what?
@Lawntism Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I avoided soaking or getting anything on the inside. I just sprayed some of that purple Super Clean degreaser on the outside. Let it soak for a bit, and then used a fine metal scrub pad and brush to clean off the build up.
@dianafenick6266 Жыл бұрын
Wow... This might be over my "paygrade", but I'm trying to clean/rebuild one that my father left me (bought in 2008, I think). LOTS of leaking fuel/oil all over -- so the plan is to replace the carburetor (RB-K75), spark plug, filters, fuel lines and thoroughly clean everything. I expect when I take the fan case off (and I have to -- it's gross under and around the flywheel), I assume I'll need to regap the coil with an ignition air gap gauge? What's the gap, please? Do I need to buy an Echo Ignition Air Gap Gauge P/N 91004 (#.014=.35mm)? Hope you see this! Thanks.

Is that an air jet you keep pulling over your shoulder? So I would need a compressor to do the job?
@Lawntism Жыл бұрын
It is a compressor. I only used it to quickly dry off the parts. You do not need it. You can simply let them air dry or wipe dry.

I have two srm 210’s a 225 and a 2620 and tbh I still use my 210s while my 225 and 2620 sit in the basement brand new lol with echo you never need a backup because they don’t break and if they do the first thing that goes after 25 years is the piston ring being worn down which is happening to one of my 210s so I’m excited to finally be able to tear down into and put this new ring I had stored for it in the basement for years

The Legendary Echo SRM-210 Is one of the Greatest Trimmers Ever Made because they are extremely reliable If you take care of them, I have one and it has lasted 17 Years and it starts first pull and runs like new, sadly today I fear the worst is yet to come because it was a little bit easier to pull today and I fear it’s time might be alone it and it might have low compression and might be ready to go to trimmer heaven soon Edit: I’m actually really sad because my family took such good care of it and maintained it well

Pretty sure you can still get parts for the SRM-210. It wouldn't be that hard to repair it & it would be a fun and rewarding project but when you factor in time spent repairing it and cost of parts it's likely more cost effective to chuck it and buy a new one.
@kma56992 жыл бұрын
I was really looking forward to seeing it being put back together and seeing the end result. My mind was spinning knowing if/when i do this to a SRM210 I just bought, that once I get half way broken down I’ll forget how to get it back together…

Great video! I am also restoring a echo 210 for the 1st time. However I'm at a stopping point because one of the hex screw on the housing assembly is stripped. I even used an extractor, unfortunately is didn't work because the area is to norrw. Any suggestions on how to get that one out? I seen you had a dewalt hex key set...the hex screws are so rusted and old on my echo srm 210.
@Lawntism3 жыл бұрын
Honestly, I was soaking a lot of the screws and bolts with WD40 before taking them off. There were some I would let sit for even a day or two, depending on how stubborn they were. Try something like that to help loosen up that rust.
