You are kind as ever, Beth! Being so intimately tied to my wife's death, this piece remains close to my heart (the third mvt especially). I'm glad it resonated with you.

It's most touching of you to say, Barbora! Yes, this work is indeed intensely personal... Excellent performance by Ondrej, the quartet and Jan! Lucky to have such advocates.

That's very kind of you to write such a nice comment. There's another performance by the same artists on KZbin from Germany, and a CD version by different artists. If you would like the score/part they are free as pdfs from my website (www.peterseabourne.com). Alternatively, you can email me from there and I will send you attachments. There is another viola/piano work on KZbin called "Freeing the Angel". I also have a short solo piece. All best wishes.

I love the instrumentation and will look up the poem. It sounds like a happy day on the Penobscot (Maine) to me. Also, the colorful backdrop adds to the mood. This work should be performed at the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center..

It is an interesting concept. It is as if we are hearing not only the musical ideas that made it into the finished composition, but also those ideas that the composer considered and then rejected. That would be a composer's life, would it not? But each note faces its Judgment Day in the mind of the composer. Like film, some scenes make it into the movie and some end up on the cutting room floor.

It is wonderful that today a composer write such deep and beautiful music! Keep on composing! Like Wagner said: we need always new works that reflects our times. Anyway we will play again the great Beethoven, Mozart but NEW works also! Many bravo for Peter Seabourne, Kristina Stepasjukova, Ondrej Vrabec and the Academy Orchestra of the Czech Philharmonic!

Compelling listening, as always, with the music of Peter Seabourne. His music never fails to take one on a journey that is both deeply inner and personal, and simultaneously a journey outwards into the centre of all that exists.
