I miss Glenda! I think of her often as I sew, and hope she’s enjoying the much earned retirement. I bet she never guessed how much she changed so many sewists lives.

Very well explained, you don't speak too quickly and it's very clear which helps understanding for those who are not English speakers. Much appreciated! Thank you. I just bought my coverstitch.

I am trying to sew a pair of men’s boxers in a stretch knit. On professional garments the seams appear to be, two pieces of fabric joined with a cover stitch, I can’t figure out how to do the seams. I think it is-wrong sides together then tuck half the seam under itself like a French seam and sew with the cover stitch machine over the top to get them to lie flat. Any ideas out there to help??

Hello Glenda. Where do I find the pattern or directions using my SFD blueprint for the draped wine blouse in this video?

This was the BEST instruction video. I just got the machine and I wasn’t sure where the looper thread should be after threading. You answered all my questions!

I can't thank you enough for your tips about determining the waistline! That and the points about properly measuring the bust and neckline were especially helpful. Everything else I was able to validate or correct based on these and I feel extremely confident now that my new measurements are correct!

I am hoping someone will answer this...do you sew in the sleeve into the shoulder before you pinch the extra fabric to measure the amount of excess fabric?...or can you do th pinching without the sleeve attached?

This was an eye opener! How would you make the fly adjustment to pants without a dart? Would you take the length from the back waist?

I think the woman who used a walker had osteoporosis compression fractures which cause the rounded back. She needed the Walker to keep her balance.

Thank you, that was brilliant. Might I make a suggestion, only because I've just tried this method on a woven fabric. I do a lot of machine embroidery and applique work. If you use duck billed scissors, such as on applique, you can carefully cut very close the the stitching xxx

The last step where you sew the collar seam allowance on the inside, do you want it on the outside to fall in the ditch or right on the edge of the collar on the outside?

Thank you SOOO MUCH for acknowledging that people with my hip shape exist! I’ve bought so many books and watched so many videos and every one says the fullest part of my hip is the low hip. Nope, my hip flares out 10 inches larger than my waist at 3” down from my waist. There are loads of us out there. You are the only person who talks about how to fit us. I appreciate it! I bought the pants kit because of this video.

I watched this to see if they had something new - they don't, all it is is the instructions from Simplicity patterns. If you want to know how to make a collar WELL, watch Sewing with Nancy Tune Into Collars. She gives different instructions that result in a much better collar.

Can a regular sewing machine do coverstitch?

I’m literally in tears. I must have looked at over 50 videos on KZbin for the last 6 months and You have helped me figure out how to do a FBA on an Apex that fall lower than most. I cannot thank you enough. Anyone who attempts to show how to do a FBA always use the standard of 8 to 10 inches from shoulder! Even the so-called Full Figured sewing KZbinrs! It has been so frustrating to say the least. I was about to give up until this video showed up! I have been stuck on this t-shirt dress with a side dart for a month. I’m a self learning sewer and everything about sewing has come easy to me with the help of KZbin except FBA … until this very moment. My only dilemma now is figuring out how to properly adjust the back pattern😔 I for sure will be joining the newsletter and much more. Thanks again.

Thank you for clear explanation adjusting pattern for a sway back. My challenge now is that the front bodice needed no adjustment. So the front piece is now longer than the back at the centre. Am I supposed to add the same amount taken out on the back bodice to the hem of the garment? SOS.
Thank you for the response. But I saw it just now when I had decided to slope the hemline from front to the side. Justnpraying that her bust will sit at the tight place as I had measured it correctly from shoulder. For the future I'm going to draw and email the end product before finishing.

Thanks a lot. My fit problem is that my right shoulder pulls the shoulder seam to the front and my collars is never aligned. I constantly have to pull the garment from the back. Can I adjust only the affected side?
