Sweet vid man, great tutorial for everyone doing 6mt swaps, and for anyone else who comes across this video this will work on gc8s gds, foresters up to the sg and some older libertys (gen 1, gen 2 maybe gen 3) they are all almost idental chassis from the engine to the trans tunnel

Following your build. Wouldn't mind doing this to mine. Are you going to add guides for the timing belt as only manuals have them. Interested to see how you get the speedo working as the speed sensor is in the auto transmission.

@Lplaterwrx21 күн бұрын
Hey mate the liberty shift linkage and driveshaft won’t work in your foz, did a 6mt swap on my gc8 which is a very similar chassis using a 07 liberty gearbox, had to buy a 01-07 shift shift linage as there shorter, or you can cut and weld the liberty linkage, the driveshaft out of your auto foz or a auto gd/gc/gf/gg will will be the only ones that will work, 6mt or auto liberty driveshaft will not work

The td05 is in the stock location and the gt35 is pretty much right on top of it. Very tight fit. Lots of pie cuts to get some tight turns in the exhaust.

@HarrodsGarage Yea 03-05 have almost exactly the same drivetrain. Found a 03 that had a blow engine for $800 cad and gutted all the manual stuff from it (petals, clutch, cylinder, plugs, mounts, the whole lot). Bought some stuff that needs to also be done (starter motor, LW flywheel and clutch combo, trans to engine bolts). All in i think it landed $1200 give or take for it all.

@HarrodsGarage hence the lower price i went with the Amazon special it's still running strong. I got it all broken in though I wish I went with a better clutch itself. Hi, I recently had a new water pump failure of my VW twincharged Jetta (1.4tsi) Now after a hefty repaire bill, some new belts and waterpump I'm experiencing a very sudden and short whooshing noise under inial load, at lower RPMS (before the turbo kicks in). The mechanic swears there is no pressure leaks or loose clamps. Ive owned the car since new and never heard this before and curious if you have any opinions on what it could be?
