very interesting to see that most of the points you explained are also the points to treat Selective Mustim. I have a kid with SM and these steps really work!!

Next week I have a presentation on the topic of building confidence when presenting to about 30 students and I want to include a little game in it. Can you suggest me a game that everyone can participate in for a few minutes that is related to what you're talking about? Because I find your techniques very interesting and I want to include it in my presentation to share with my friends. Please and thank you.❤

My mantra: Its not about you or the people you are presenting to. It's about the subject matter, the task at hand. Be all about the topic and remove people, including yourself from the equation helps you stay focused on the topic at hand.

Great techniques, definitely will try to think about it. In two days I will be presenting for 1.5 hours for 300 people since I will start teaching. Twice a week, for the coming 12 weeks. I'm curious how it will evolve.

1. asking questions beginning of the speech 2. be present, less worry about the future (listen to music, count backwards) 3. do tongue-twister 4. use conversational language

This helped me with giving a speech at my brother's wedding last Saturday. I'm known to be a very fast talker, always jumping around all over the place like the ADHD prototype I am. Also, I've learned from one of your podcast episodes to be careful about a fourth element, namely to be slow. It worked like a gem for me, not only at the wedding, but also at my new workplace, leading groups of people, mostly children, through our museum. Thanks so much for all of your valuable input! Lots of love and greetings from Germany!

Hi, Matt! Thank you so much for being my inspiration in public speaking. I’ve been listening to your podcast since 2021, and I have learned so many communication strategies, not just from your guests, but also from you. I have chosen these key takeaways that I use every time I speak in a group of people. Audience Structure Story Really helps me a lot! Hope to join your talk, in person, in the future. Best! Thank you for the value you've brought Matt. I love that. "I have value to bring." If I can add to this, as parents let's remember, "The voice we use to speak with our children eventually becomes the voice they use to speak with themselves."

What’s missed here is the fear of embarrassing yourself, showing nervousness, blanking out, etc. When you think of what might go wrong, the anxiety surges.
