I think the Senna lap skips a beat under the tunnel after the Degner curve, that's why it finishes earlier in the end

People seem to forget that this is Senna in his prime, while Schuey was still in his early years. Even though Schumacher was driving a superior car, you can still appreciate Senna's brilliance. Let's not get involved in throwing sh.t to each other, just watch two extraordinary driver doing what they lived for. Peace.

I mean, both had around 5 years of F1 experience under their belts in their respective videos. Sometimes is easy to forget that Senna only raced for 10 years in F1 before dying, given his legacy. I just wish Senna survived '94 and competed more against Schumacher. We were robbed a great rivalry. RIP Ayrton and God bless Michael and his family.

Do you mean FFB? It does have that through patches and additional plugins, though you have to play around with the settings to get a good feeling for your particular wheel. With increased frames and the newest mods, it’s still quite a blast!

It's a really interesting comparison. I didn't realize the times were so close. Suzuka had been resurfaced during that time, but also the '95 gen cars were the first with the 50mm step and 3.0 liter engine; they'd lost a bit of pace. Smaller rear tyres too.

Yeah they both were exceptional drivers, but you can feel the speed on Senna's video, i think Senna was more extreme, always to the limit and had that instinct to achieve every curve perfectly... Schumacher was more a classic driver like Prost, driving without taking risks and always 2 o 3 degrees away from the limit... They both were incredible, but Senna will always be the "example of what a driver should be".
@craigpierce79963 ай бұрын
Stick and shifter, unbelievable! Senna was fearless, as all the greats are. Also remember he was muscling that unruly V-12 power! So heel-and-toe on the floor and dropping a hand for shifts, at those speeds!!
@timkasansky25283 ай бұрын
very different cars. 1989 has more power and wider tyres, 1995 has a semi automatic gear box and better brakes. People seem to forget 1995 cars were VERY SLOW because of the deaths in 1994. Take this video as a curiosity in how different cars can make a very similar time on the same circuit, little else.
@hristoitchov3 ай бұрын
That's the point of the video - a curious coincidence. In terms of specs, there are some important similarities too - engine peak power output for both cars at around 700 hp, weight for both at 500 kg. What Senna in his McLaren perhaps had as an advantage with wider qualifying tyres, Schumacher in his Benetton compensated for with better aerodynamics. Both are obviously extracting the absolute maximum, from their cars in qualifying, so the purpose of this is just to enjoy and not to argue who is better.
Manual shifter while Schummi's car have a lot from electronics and semi-automatic gearbox! Ayrton is the greatest, full stop!

MP4/5 weight 500 kilos x 700 hp - B195 weight 600 kilos x 690 hp. I don't know if this details was realy, for sure the B195 had a better aerodinamica, but here we would see that during the initial fast corners Schumacher was faster than Ayrton, than the incredible MP4/5 power and lite, especially in the last fast corner, gain some meters in straight. Too difficoult understand who between them was faster, but for sure this compare show to all a battle between two F1's titans...

Exactly 😂 Senna was faster, nobody like him. (FASTEST, king of pole position, rainy races, karting), Senna achieve all those records (no discuss) But comparing all onboards , how smooth was prost, the way he move the car, steering wheel, its perfect Thats why he was best, and also 1988 season, prost beat senna, so prost was 5 times World chanpion He refuse To drive like senna, he didnt Speed to be World champion F1 Cars at 80s, fail a lot, and thats why he manage championship, because its imposible to win all races He knew the car, so well, and he knew when car was in trouble, and when was ok, and thats why sometimients, he won races and sometimes started at pole position I understand that for many People, prefer senna, because he wanted to win all races Thats the difference, a FASTEST driver vs a master driver, thats why 80s was the best f1 era 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😂😂😂

Something I hugely admire about Prost is that he never got flustered by huge qualifying gaps to Senna, knowing that the race was where points got decided.

Sometimes I wonder if Prost took it easy during qualifying, knowing that Senna would then get P1 on the dirtier side of the track, therefore Prost would be able to take an early lead.

Thank you for the kind words, glad you enjoyed it! Good job on surviving in this race, it was so difficult through the whole Mini Series, with all the incidents happening! Currently I'm doing (and streaming) the 1955s championship of Season 44 in UKGPL, if you want to watch. It's very different from these 65 cars, so it's quite challenging for me to get used to the driving style required, with the fading brakes, the skinny tyres and all the rest.

It took 6 years to barely catch up to Senna. Had Senna been in the same car as shoe in 1995, he would have destroyed him. He was that fast.

different tyres, different chassis, different engine power, and you're using the logic the car is 6 years newer ignoring the fact the 1989 Mclaren had the tyres which helped a lot and also more speed in the straight, i love Senna but comparing the 1989 cars with 1995 cars (which were slower due to Senna passing away ), only to downplay Schumacher is unfair

@@Tenn1972 i'm objective, i'm stating facts about the characteristics of a car , the Benetton had less grip , and having less grip in track like suzuka means a huge lost of time and also Senna didn't beat Prost in 1988-1989 let alone Michael , he won 1988 due to best results system and people dare to say Prost was helped by Balestre.

@@energeticfra100 No, you are biased. Shoe is a nothing. He NEVER once had the skill, the speed or the talent to get on pole one single time in Aryton Senna's lifetime. That is a fact you cannot refute. He was not even close. In equal cars, he would have never one a single race against many of the greats of the time. He got lucky. Alesi should have stayed with Ferrari and let them get their act together. As for your incorrect comments about not beating Prost in 1988-1989, apparently you are not communicating your hidden thoughts that no one else has. Senna walked all over Prost in every year. Prost could not keep up with the new genius. He could not even win the 1984 Monaco without a fellow countryman helping him. Pour Ickx!
