Great vid again chez! I think the secret too lies in the fact that when we practice a thing constantly for 2-3 years we can often reach a bit of diminishing returns, so why not pick up and add another skill where now we are new at it, and we can sky rocket that skill since we will get the “noob gains.” I think this is why in MMA all the fighters will may not be masters in all the disciplines but STILL pretty damn good at all of them, vs the single pursuit athlete who reaches unique highs due to their dedication to one art, but they never explore anything else.

Thank you for all you have done here on KZbin. Youre a real inspiration....as a big fan of martial arts im learning capoeira and tkd. Ive ran into many discourging plateaus but your workouts that ive emulated helped me push past them. Its difficult trying to work out in martial arts and calisthenics, because there's not many people to draw from and it feels pretty isolating tbh, so thats why youre such a big help. And the biggest breakthrough for me was your example inspiring me to add jump rope to my workouts Also, your inspirational messages helped not only myself but close friends of mine as well. I really cant thank you enough, man. Keep being you, youre making a difference to people you dont even know or see!

Lol i am and always have been the same way with hobbies. And i get good at what it is in the moment, because i obsess and learn quick. Even a while back when i first joined a mma gym they asked me if i had ever done boxing (self taught) and they were seemingly surprised i had no formal teaching done and the teacher even called me a "tape recorder" at some point bc id just catch on quickly. I think when you hobby hop youre constantly rewiring and learning shit that learning in general becomes easier, you catch onto things quicker, because the process of learning is seemingly never different whether youre learning a language or how to box. You get good in areas and you plateau in others, and you know what you need to do / work on to get better. Being new to something isnt fearful territory but familiar territory. That to me is the benefit of hobby hopping, i used to feel ashamed of it but it can be a gift in a way.

I wanted to do the warriors program but hit a similar problem. I run 3/4 times a week and didn’t have time to catch up. So instead on my non running days I just grabbed my jump rope (10 minutes) kettlebells (40 minutes) and got back on the punch bag (20 minutes) and shadow boxing (10 minutes) sit-ups (3/5 hundred). I agree it’s the mindset that gets you through. So now on my non running days I squeeze as much of these exercises as I can within 50 minutes. Keep doing what you love Chez and makes you happy. I prefer to be a outlier than alpha or beta……. Or sigma 😂 Train Hard And Be Kind definitely includes training hard and being kind to yourself 🐉

Thank you man I really needed to hear this🙏🫡 🤝 I'm also mentally built like this and a lot of people told me "ohh you lack discipline, ohh you can't focus on one thing for too long, how are you even gonna make it in life being like that? " and a lot of similar stuff like it's a bad thing. But now I can finally see the fruits of my labor and everything starts to make sense now. Why would I want to limit myself to one area of interest ? That would be boring af

They're correct. After a certain age (30 would be great, especially if you want a family) it's wise to choose a lane and stick with it for a while. Bc there's a difference between careers and hobbies.
