Why do Marco and Erica use “would” when they talk about their road trips in the past? Like “we would drive, would go camping, would sleep outside…”. 9:39 Why don’t they say “we drove, we went camping, we slept outside”? Just my question about grammar here.

I have a confusion about the dialouge content. I don’t understand why manager said bad idea for Natalie’s plan. She proposed a promotion 2 for 1. But when Swan said her plan is that 2 for 1 offer. I think Natalie and Swan’s plan is the same. It’s both promotion 2 for 1 with meaning lower price compared normal. Why??
