I don’t usually like different takes on a song, but you know Dave you cracked it absolutely beautiful,,I would love to know how you recorded the backing music,
@DavidFebruary Жыл бұрын
Thank you. The vocal and guitar are recorded live. Then I added a couple of tracks of orchestral ‘soft synths’, where you play on a keyboard and it is converted to violin etc.

The lights shine down the valley The wind blows up the alley, oh Well I wish I was lying in the arms of Mary She took the pains of boyhood And turned them in to feel good, oh How I wish I was lying in the arms of Mary Mary was the girl who taught me all I had to know She put me right on my first mistake Summer wasn't good when I learned all she had to show She really gave all a boy could take, yeah.. So now when I get lonely Still looking for the one and only That's when I wish was lying in the arms of Mary... Mary was the girl who taught me all I had to know She put me right on my first mistake Summer wasn't good when I learned all she had to show She really gave all a boy could take...yeah.. The lights shine down the valley The wind blows up the alley, oh Well I wish I was lying in the arms of Mary Lying in the arms of Mary, Lying in the arms of Mary Ohhhhhh....

I would like to hear a chinese version of this romantic poem and song:

I'm a great Yeats fan, and this in particular. I've heard this attempted by lots of singers, but it always seems to escape them, but not this time. David Mullen has captured it in song. Well done.

Gorgeous! I also frequently turn my poems into songs, and it is magical when the music just bursts forth as if it was meant to be, thank you for sharing this.

Excellent cover David! This is such a sad song, but I love sad songs. You sing this with real verve and passion. I've covered a couple of his songs too. I need to learn this one. Cheers from St. Louis MO. I subscribed!

Without a song the day would never end Without a song the road would never bend When things go wrong a man ain't got a friend Without a song That field of corn would never see a plow That field of corn would be deserted now A man is born but he's no good no how Without a song I got my trouble and woe but, sure as I know, the Jordan will roll And I'll get along as long as a song is strong in my soul I'll never know what makes the rain to fall I'll never know what makes that grass so tall I only know there ain't no love at all Without a song I've-a got my trouble and woe and, sure as I know, the Jordan will roll And I'll get along as long as a song is strong in my soul I'll-a never know what makes that rain to fall I'll never know what makes the grass so tall I only know there ain't no love at all Without a song Your brother Vin

Absolutely the best. Thank you for this, David, and much respect. You have moved me. You very much resemble my father, who was a hard drinking Irishman, a soul far too beautiful for this world.
