Terrifying perhaps a better description is my humble response. Formidable peaks look down at tiny trespassers in an atmosphere unforgiving of human pride. The only warmth is the light of a fleeting sun. A place so inhospitable towards these temporary inhabitants, where fear threatens to engulf. Where crevasses endless in enormity reside. A frozen darkness sits wideset beneath those who dare to tread slopes of blinding snow. Gaping holes to swallow any errors of mistaken judgement. Ladders walked like tight-ropes of Destiny. Preparedness alone equates passable performance. Ascent is only one half the equation, the following descent is approaching the cross-roads of Fate. My simple prayer uttered is may they pass peacefully by the overlays of crag & crevice, steadily beneath the shroud of endless skies & stand upon the mantle of the mountain encompassed vista's never ending in glorious sights. Let the mountain be unperturbed their presence in awe of majesties & allow such reverent fealty in homage given return forever altered by their experience. Pristine souls once more, the innocence of wonder regained..humbled forever by nature in her purest formation.
