I'd stay up to watch Don and Marty even after hearing the amazing news that Harford County schools were closed.

My aunt was a dancer in the Mexican version of this show. It was called Discoteque A-Go Go. It was very similar to this they had a council and only the pretty teens got on it and in typical 60s style only white Mexican kids where on it.

Now granted, the tapes, the physical - the actual tapes on you own them. But the voice. The heart and soul and magic on those tapes? You don’t own that!!!

Yea it was, John Waters who wrote made Hairspray lived in Baltimore and was a teen during this time but he was an outcast.

Al Sanders was a Baltimore Institution. Baltimore and WJZ are just not the same without Al Sanders (and Jerry Turner). RIP Al Sanders and Godspeed.

The irony is that the show was cancelled due to integration pressures...meanwhile 16 years of Soul Train never had a single white person on it and no one even realizes it.

I used to live very close to this ballpark. We could walk to there from our home near Montibello reservoir. The first year it opened, I saw the July 4th fireworks while sitting in the 1st level seats. After that, the second level seats blocked the view and you had to go to the upper level to get the entire field of view.
