I came to know very little about Sigrid just recently. My inner voice is calling me to read about her, her inner landscape of spiritual life. Unfortunately, the cursed region where I live, East Africa is unlikely place to access to books. Waiting for some Providence to act.

I had no interest in geology until we moved to Norway in April this year. We are thrilled to have discovered your lecture Dr. Burns and found it fascinating. If I was in the lecture, I would have liked to ask how the huge standing rocks that 'litter' the countryside all over the area we are in (Uvdal/Geilo) came about? I was imagining they were thrown by volcanic activity, or is there another explanation? Thank you!

So, if the nice rounded fjord shapes were created by the passage of glacers through V shaped canyons, how were the V shaped land forms created ? ? ?
@bowenlloyd4528
@bowenlloyd4528 2 ай бұрын
I’m assuming continental drift caused collisions of plates. As they collide, they create mountain ranges. Those steep v shaped valleys in between the mountains are the answer you’re looking for (I think😂). Period of cooling, ice forms over, compresses and erodes these ranges into more U shaped as opposed to V. I did geology before I studied history in university, so it’s been a long time since. I apologise if this information is incorrect

Thank you so much for this. I hope more people become interested in Steiner's craft. As I was watching , I started to think of my own legacy and I hope my work can be remembered for its natural qualities. I would absolutely love creating water around a Steiner cabin. Such an honor!

Thanks for this! Very helpful! A lIst of ingredients would be helpful. Also, what temp and how long are they baked? I see many differing instructions for that online. Would have been helpful to see you remove the rings from the molds. Oh! much later, you say 300F.

I see no reason why Scandinavia should support USA in its attempts to maintain a neocolonial world. It's a shameful development and we should have maintained a neutral position. This is not our fight and we should stay out and work for peace instead. This would never have happened if NATO had stayed away

The teams in skiing in Norway are strong, they support each other and see them not as competitors first. You can notice that in their comments. That also includes the Swedish and Norwegian athletes, who have a great respect for each other and are often friends. So competition yes but in an overall atmosphere of sharing the times with each other.

I am Swedish Norwegian and want to comment on this with Norwegianness. Its to me correct. I can give a clear example. When we visited our grandmother in Trondheim, she put us on a solitary stool in the middle of Her kitchen, her domain, and then put us under a ritual to get rid of our Swedishness. Then we were accepted. But then she was a Matriarch, everything had to be done Her way, and my grandfather, a retired sailor, backed her up 100 percent. He never interfered in her domain, apart of when someone went against her will. For him she had proved herself competent, raised 8 children, taking care of the household when he was away on the Sea. When on land he saw no point in meddling or taking over, she knew how of everything of the household and he backed her.

The more you express your personal feelings about the country of your ancestor, the more biased you are and the less scientific you are!!! Please, STAY HUMBLE and let your personal life become insignificant in your lecture. Human ego is a subject of study for sure however, the title is The dynamic geological history of Norway!!! Please, don't fall in vanity egotrip and STAY FOCUSED on science content!

I enjoyed the lecture immensly. Many thanks and appreciation to the speaker. I had read the book in Polish first some 30 years before not knowing anything about the author and reread it recently with great pleasure. I came across this lecture while searching for some information. In the area of Poland where I live now as a retired person we have an informal Kristina Lavransdaughter fan-club. In spite of the time and place differences, the problems, circumstances and even climate difficulties described in the trilogy seem so close to us. They are simply universal.

Ross was a foreign language teacher at Mountain View HS in Vancouver for many years. I never had him in class but as a yearbook photographer, I had the honor of photographing his knighting ceremony (I think that's what they called it) at Waverly when he was made Honorary Swedish Vice Consul. We ended up buying a home a couple miles from Fogelbo, and drive by it regularly. Thank you Ross for a lifetime of service to others!

What an excellent lecture. I loved the comparison of what students today expect Vikings to have been like, and what historians know to be true at this point in time. When I was a freshman at University of Washington in 1968 I took a Norwegian history class. I could not get interested in it at the time. I think if I had had a professor like you, I would have continued. Thank you.
