I saw nutcracker first time in my life 2 days ago. I watched it my mouth open with the biggest smile. It was beautiful. Every dancer, every move was beatiful.

Sorry but this is incredibly uninspiring. Keala sounds great of course, even though some of the top belt notes are a little off, but there is absolutely no attention to staging, blocking and choreo. 90% of it is just generic ambling around the stage. No urgency and basically zero attention to musicality. This is a brilliant musical and so this is really disappointing.

“A Chorus Line” was the first show I ever saw on Broadway. It was the opening week at the Shubert Theatre and sold out. I knew nothing about it but a little I was told by a friend I was traveling with. On a whim I went to the box office to see about a ticket. I was told that it was sold out but if I came back at two I might get a standing room ticket. Thankfully I lined up at about 11 and was about 4th or 5th in line. I got a standing room ticket for $5. I fell in love with the show and returned 2 more time that week standing in the rear of the Shubert for $5 each time. Now 50 years and hundreds of Broadway shows later “A Chorus Line” remains my all time favorite show..

I have been obsessed with the show. I’m especially excited to hear and see the production of how they do Suddenly. By far my favorite ❤️

I was on running crew when my high school did Urinetown in my junior year and despite not having listened to it for years, the memories came flooding back as I watched this and I was suddenly singing along like it was just yesterday that this entire show got burned into my brain during the rehearsals after school
Remember timing & tempo, these characters are not people in 2025, they are stock characters of literal Hope & Strong. This is missing that blind optimism central to the conceit of the show. It’s satire, not rom com.
