Just saw a big barred owl with a big gray squirrel in it's talons today while jogging through the woods. I must have spooked it and it took off about 10 feet over my head, but the squirrel must have weighed too much for it, so it only made it about 20 feet before it landed on another tree. Squirrel's tail was slightly moving, so this was a fresh hunt. Owl perched, stared right at me, and waited for me to continue on my way. Never saw this before. Very cool experience.
