Our riches do not lay on this earth they lay in heaven. Go don't have money but have a place to sleep and a place to drink. So why can we not rely on guard to give us what we need a place to sleep a place to eat. Where is our faith in letting God give us what we need.

If you play an instrument and you play it well you should be paid point blank and if not stop volunteering your time to church....and get on a Bruno Mars audition or Toni braxton ..or Taylor swift ..why..cause they respect your gift..it's about honor and respect ..boom

God chose Abraham, Isaac and Jacob/Israel. (not to be confused with the Jews) “You only have I chosen of all the families of the earth; therefore I will punish you for all your sins.” 1 Chrinicles 17:9 "And I will provide a place for My people Israel and will plant them so that they may dwell in a place of their own and be disturbed no more. No longer will the sons of wickedness oppress them as they did at the beginning" Hebrews 8:10 "For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord, putting My Laws into their mind, and I will inscribe them upon their hearts; and I will be to them God, and they will be to Me for a people." Israel was given a news name! Isaiah 62:2 "Nations will see your righteousness, and all kings your glory. You will be called by a new name that the mouth of the LORD will bestow." And we were first called Christian at Antioch. Why is that so hard to understand, we are Israel predestined by God and out of Israel Jesus would call out his chosen as the Church. Israel is the Bride of Christ, not the church but the people of Israel.

Phil 2:5-8 in the original Greek, clearly shows that the PHYSICAL Jesus was zero % GOD. According to Jesus/Peter, the PHYSICAL Jesus was a Man/Son of God (not GOD) who was INDWELLED/anointed by GOD, and it was GOD/Spirit that indwelled Jesus that did the miracles -- SEE Acts 10:38, John 14:10, Acts 2:22, Matthew 12:28, etc.

I just found a church I really like finally but I just can't get down with the fact people believe God made the world and he so loved the world that he sent his only son to save us for our sins so that we can live on a restored earth for eternity where even the trees on the mountain tops will bear fruit.............. but then I guess God changes his mind and says "nah... forget earth yall just coming to live with me in heaven.. i sent Jesus down to save yall for no reason, jk yall .... jk!" It just makes no sense.

1. Sermon Category and General Problem This sermon is an Identity Sermon, emphasizing the dignity and purpose of every individual in Christ, particularly those society often overlooks or marginalizes. It focuses on God's power working through unexpected people, demonstrated through scriptural narratives and personal testimonies. General Problem with the Category: Identity sermons often risk emphasizing human value and purpose apart from Christ’s redemptive work. They can become primarily affirmational, sidelining the Law’s severity and the Gospel’s centrality. 2. Severity of the Law and Gospel Clarity Law's Severity: The Law is softened, with its demands often reframed as calls to action rather than exposing human inability to fulfill God’s standards. Statements like, "Confess the lies you’ve believed," highlight sin but do not explore its full weight or consequences before a holy God. Gospel Clarity: The Gospel is present, particularly in affirmations of Jesus’ humility and sacrificial love. However, the sermon primarily frames the Gospel as an invitation to participate in God’s work rather than a declaration of salvation through Christ’s completed work. Example: "Jesus came down to make a way for all people to be in relationship with God." While true, this statement lacks explicit reference to Jesus’ atoning death and resurrection, which secure this relationship. 3. Semi-Pelagianism Check The sermon does not overtly advocate Semi-Pelagianism but emphasizes human action and participation in God’s work. Phrases like, "You can choose to believe today," and the focus on identifying and using personal gifts could unintentionally imply that human initiative plays a role in God’s redemptive plan. However, the emphasis on Jesus as the enabler of all good works prevents this from being explicitly Semi-Pelagian. 4. Scoring Diagnostic Textual Faithfulness 7 Grounded in Luke 1 and thematic biblical truths, though application sometimes leans toward humanistic affirmations. Law/Gospel Distinction 6 The Gospel is present but overshadowed by imperatives and identity-focused affirmations. Bondage of the Will 5 The sermon emphasizes human choice and participation, underplaying human helplessness without grace. Christ-Centered Focus 7 Jesus is central as the model and enabler of humility, though His redemptive work could be more explicit. Pastoral Application 8 The sermon compassionately addresses marginalized groups and calls for practical, inclusive ministry efforts. Theological Integrity 7 Sound theology overall, though some language risks implying human capability apart from God’s initiating grace. Total Score: 40/60 Grade: B- Summary This sermon powerfully affirms the dignity and purpose of all believers, particularly those marginalized by society. However, it could more explicitly highlight human inability to fulfill God’s Law apart from Christ and root its calls to action in the Gospel rather than in human potential. A stronger focus on Jesus’ atoning work would deepen its theological impact while preserving its pastoral sensitivity.

1. Sermon Category and General Problem This sermon is primarily an Exhortation Sermon, offering practical guidance and encouragement to cultivate joy and gratitude regardless of circumstances, rooted in Philippians 4:4-8. General Problem with the Category: Exhortation sermons risk placing the weight of Christian life on human effort and application, which can obscure the sufficiency of Christ's completed work. The focus on actionable disciplines can unintentionally shift emphasis away from the transformative power of grace to a performance-driven mindset. 2. Severity of the Law and Gospel Clarity Law's Severity: The Law is softened, focusing on practical disciplines rather than exposing humanity’s utter dependence on Christ. The exhortation to “rejoice always” and “be anxious for nothing” is framed as achievable through correct practices, with limited acknowledgment of human frailty and sin. Example: "You control what you think. Think about what is true, honorable, and just." This statement places responsibility on the believer without fully acknowledging the difficulty of redirecting sinful hearts and minds without divine intervention. Gospel Clarity: The Gospel is present but not explicit. Jesus’ completed work and His sustaining grace are referenced but are often overshadowed by the sermon’s emphasis on actionable responses like gratitude journaling. Example: "Jesus offers peace that surpasses all understanding." While this acknowledges the Gospel promise, the sermon doesn’t emphasize that peace is a gift of grace received through faith, not a product of human effort. 3. Semi-Pelagianism Check The sermon does not explicitly advocate Semi-Pelagianism but flirts with its language by heavily emphasizing human effort in cultivating gratitude and joy. Statements like, "You control what you think," suggest a dependence on human initiative, though the Gospel is referenced as the ultimate source of peace. 4. Scoring Diagnostic Textual Faithfulness 7 Grounded in Philippians 4:4-8, though the text is sometimes applied with a psychological rather than theological lens. Law/Gospel Distinction 6 The Gospel is present but obscured by emphasis on practical application. Bondage of the Will 5 The sermon suggests believers can achieve joy through effort, underemphasizing dependence on the Spirit. Christ-Centered Focus 6 Christ is presented as central, but disciplines risk overshadowing His completed work. Pastoral Application 8 Practical advice is abundant and thoughtful, though it sometimes shifts focus from divine grace to human effort. Theological Integrity 7 Generally sound but leans too heavily on psychology rather than robust theological exposition. Total Score: 39/60 Grade: C+ 5. Summary This sermon successfully exhorts listeners to embrace joy and gratitude but could more explicitly root these in the Gospel and the work of the Spirit. While practical advice like gratitude journaling is beneficial, it risks overshadowing the centrality of Christ’s work as the ultimate source of peace and joy. A stronger emphasis on human dependence on grace rather than personal discipline would enhance theological depth and pastoral care.

Pastor Matt once again you are spot on. Actually I have now distanced myself from my family who voted for Trump as I will not be associated with supporters of nazism. A few years ago when I met you at the conference you told me to unburden myself from my whiteness - and I have taken steps to do that including monthly donations to BLM. I want to say - thank you Matt for keeping it real ! ✊🏾

2 years ago, I had a vision for Unmasking Purpose. But before I could do what the channel is called, I believed the Lord wanted me to talk to Matt Chandler about something I can't say here. I couldn't get ahold of him and believed the Holy Spirit directed me not to give up on talking to him. I believe I was supposed to not sleep until he called. He never did. I went 2 full months without sleep. I did meet a police officer named Matt Chandler in Ashville, NC. I was asleep shortly afterward. Last year again, I was directed to try to talk to Matt Chandler, but this time to fast until he called. He still didn't call, and I went into a mental hospital again. I gave up on my vision for Unmasking Purpose and figured I was just Bipolar and having visions of granger (a symptom of Bipolar) A year went by, and I had moved on happily But the LORD won't let it rest. Again I've reached out to Matt Chandler. This time I know he actually saw my request. Please pray he calls me. Or that I can find peace and know maybe God didn't intend for us to talk. @TheOvercomersPodcast

Gratitude is a great thing and definitely put in the effort to think about the things listed in that Philippians verse. Yes people have the ability to purposefully visualize things. But some people with mental health problems like OCD and schizophrenia have intrusive thoughts that they can't control or choose to not have. People have some ability to choose and control their thoughts. Some more than others. I am grateful for pastor Matt Chandler, his Bible teaching, and what God is doing with the village church. I had a severe traumatic brain injury about 5 years ago so can at least somewhat empathize with someone who has had brain trauma. I also have OCD
