PS- I have a Yamaha FG5 also, great guitar.

I replaced a Gibson J50 with my Yamaha F160 Special Edition. The Yamaha is a much better Guitar. Then I bought a FG5 a couple of years ago. It is amazing.

Sounds good. I'm seriously considering getting a tenor guitar and tuning like this for the same reason. When I'm playing acoustic guitar in a traditional jazz context the lower two strings seem to get in the way.

Love mine. I also own a 1973 FG200, and you can hear the historical FG sound on the FG5. in my opinion sounds better than a FG2000 that was top of the line in the early seventies
