Love your video super informative. I would like to see you test steel cased ammo out of it.

Knew that it was only +5 to highest as I researched it a while back. My hearing doctor said double as often as possible especially when indoors. My biggest problem is the seal from foam plugs never seems to be good on one of my ear's canals. May try to get a set of custom ear plugs so I know that I'm getting a good seal every time.

I double up because there's leakage through the muffs when wearing glasses. Even with gel pads that have a channel for the glasses.

While I have heard this before (the larger number +5) the thing that is hard to understand for me is that if we have foam plugs with a rating of 32 and muffs with a rating of 22 we get a reduction of 32 +5=37. That's fine but what if we have foam plugs again rated at 32 and this time, we have muffs rated at 27. Thats 5 more but the rule states them to be the same 37 overall. That doesn't make a lot of sense to me

We have at least one more hearing protection video in the works where we are going to tackle that question and a few others like it.

Welcome to the world of logarithmic function, I've kinda hung out here for the last 40 years. 5db, is a lot more than most people think it is, trust me...🫡 I double up anytime I am shooting a rifle at the range.👍 For pistols, I double up when indoors, under a covered firing line, or if the range is crowded and others are shooting rifles. My hearing is already severely damaged, I'm not interested in doing anymore damage.🤷♂

I wear muffs with plugs. I might try muffs with AirPods Pro, but certainly not AirPods alone.

I’ve used them before for competition sporting clays and honestly thought they did a pretty good job when compared to a pair of broken electronic ear muffs. Was honestly better than the muffs because shouldering my shotgun would knock them out of place. Disclaimer: thanks to someone who bludgeoned me with a full arm cast, I’ve had blown out ear drums for over half my life so my hearing is not entirely normal.

I’ve been curious about this because I use them pretty frequently in the shop when I’m running a grinder and they seem to work pretty well for most things in a fabrication shop aside from the air arc but I’ve been hesitant to try them for anything louder than that.

2.0 22LR? Nah I want a 22WMR mouse gun, and I think that is possibly achievable with this bigger grip.

part of the issue is the stiff wall. Try to just pull through the wall and see if it centers the shot. Also play with the placement of the pad - tip - knuckle of your shooting finger.

I've not tested it in those shotguns to be able to answer with first hand knowledge. I've used it in other pump shotguns like the model 97, but the results are a mixed bag. Sometimes they feed sometimes they don't. I mostly shoot them out of Mossberg 500 style shotguns, or break action shotguns.

nice test. At 50 yards or even at 35 yards a huge improvement would occur if you had a tighter choke like say modified. At 7 yards you are golden with open choke. Yes those mini's pattern tighter per your test.

I owned a Bobcat in .22lr and experienced stovepipe issues. I traded it for the .25 and had absolutely zero reliability problems. I think this has to do with the cartridge length to diameter ratio. The longer, skinnier .22 just doesn't feel well in these small guns. I much prefer the .25 ACP.

Appreciate you man! Only brought it up cause it helps to differentiate between a sweet shooter and a snappy one. Keep up the good work - .380 is back!

Nice series. Just a note: the S&W EZ series (.380, 9mm & Equalizer) are short recoil, tilt barrel actions - hence the low felt recoil and lower required spring force for easy racking. Thus is true also for the Ruger Security 380, which is a great compact!

If you’ll keep your head up and bring your arms up to your line of sight rather than lowering your head so much to get your sight picture, you would gain a lot of accuracy…. Just a suggestion

I just bought a Bodyguard 2.0 and the first thing I did was check the sights. The front sight was perfectly centered and the rear sight was just ever so slightly to the right. I won't get to shoot it until my NY permit gets amended by a judge. Not kidding, that's the procedure.

I can tell you I have 5 of these guns one original made in 1897 in solid frame style. And just to let you know how great these are at the trap range I've hit 98 out of 100 twice and that gun is a take down model produced in 1898. That is my go to gun when shooting trap. You should do a full round in another video at an ATA trap range. Love these guns and am glad to see you guys showing interest in them.

Love the channel and I have a Ruger Security 380 - it is a great pistol. However, I have heard reviews stating that the action is a 'straight blowback'. It is actually a locked breech action, as is the Walther PD380. This is why Ruger was able to reduce slide mass and lighten the return spring. Also why felt recoil is less and not 'snappy' like blowback models ( ie: Bersa Thunder).

I heard someone at a sporting goods counter tell a customer that the Browning ammo was made by CCI... Seems like both the Browning and Winchester 380 are not very good for having consistent power levels. They are all over thr place.

Winchester ammo and Browning ammo are made by Olin Corporation. Winchester White Box and Browning Target and Practice are the same ammo just packaged in a different box. CCI Speer used to be owned by Vista Outdoors, but they were sold to Czechoslovak Group in the last year or so. Federal, Remington, and probably a bunch of other common brands are a part of that deal.
