Wait a minute! Are you insinuating that since "childbearing" which is a natural process is fraught with "risks" and so African women should avoid it? My late dear mother who was a Midwife for over 30 years, a mother of the 5 of us, including my twin sisters, and an expert in the process of "childbearing" would vehemently disagree. She would say that given the prenatal care a pregnant woman needs, which the Africans have to do, that should be sufficient to enable a woman to deliver a baby normally. Telling "African men" about the "risks" of "childbearing" should be undertaken as means of encouraging them to take care of their pregnant wives and NOT to discourage them from having children. Moreover, "contraceptives" are essential for "family planning," but when used for what they were not intended, it amounts to human interference with HUMAN REPRODUCTION, which is one of the numerous ways this happens, with unintended consequences. The sub-replacement fertility rate of 0 to 1 child per couple is only one of them, which is widespread in countries where this interference is most prevalent, with serious economic and social repercussions. It is a rollercoaster nearly impossible to stop once it has started, as 50% of the world population in over 90 countries have found out the hard way. Therefore, we in Africa do not wish to emulate other countries that cannot sustain their population as a result. No one in Africa is going to stop consistently maintaining the normal replacement fertility rate of 2 or more children per couple, thereby sustaining our population just because "childbearing" is fraught with "risks." It simply will not happen. Should the people stop driving cars just because it is fraught with "risks?"

I was poor but. I was always taught a strong work ethic. And never compare yourselves to others as there will always be those better off and worse off than yourself. Also... it's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice. We had a lot of sayings justifying ourselves and giving hope that thimgs will get better if we worked hard. I must say that hard work doesn't always get you out of poverty. I am not poor now but am constantly afraid that I might be again one day.

I’ve never understood this number. It doesnt tell how far one is from being about to afford a fish in a paper wrapper or how/if groups can pool their dollar a day into shared accommodation (for example). Its also not comparable - even between imdividuals in the same house! (For reasons too complex to discuss here). Its a silly measure… looking nice and easy. But we cant even know if its an average or a good/bad day. Ugh.

Most third-world countries *severely* (and deliberately) undercount poverty levels, because they think that having "beautiful" numbers might attract more foreign investment - as well as for reasons of national pride. The same goes for data such as access to clean water - which in many developing countries can include rainwater cisterns or even communal wells or faucets. Thank you for the thoughtful discussion.

How China can be called a meritocracy with absolute no egalitarianism practice?Admission quotas are everywhere without single justification, the admission rates for top universities in local area are commonly one tenth of that in Peking,some provinces have that less than one thirtieth in Peking. The facts revealed in statistic is absurd.

NOW they are at war with Africa's womb = then they get mad when you called them demons.. THE STUDY DATA is not for the general public or worldwide. its a tool to attack African newborns; which they dont own Africa or its land. { its not their business} WORLD WIDE no one is having children . yet she is born after this trend and this video is 3 years off. = so its a weapon; the study is to gather data to go to war. in a nutshell they KNOW Africa was right in terms of survival on Earth and the West was wrong. THE WEST WAS COMPLETELY WRONG on everything!! Capitalism is a western culture value and it do not like children competing for time w/ working hours. For the 1st time in human history; ever land do not have equal amounts of children. Pandemic is also a threat to humanity and they publish this in the heart of covid pandemic ; when the planet wasn't even sure it will make it. = then they get mad when you called them demons.. They introduce chaos and scarcity not just in food or land but also in fertility | but people ancestors already solved sustainability 🤰🏻 🤰🏼 🤰🏽 . 🤰🏾its not education that drops fertility rate; its western culture. ASIA is the test A/B; they drank the koolaid and they got the same results. extinction

AFRICA can sustain 10 billion people. its vastly underpopulated. if china ( 1 country) has a billion people. India ( 1 country) has a billion people 🚦Africa is 1 billion ( 53 countries) China, India, the United States and Europe can fit into Africa with ease; plenty of space left over; AND those countries have in total =billions of people those countries you will find VAST countryside with not a soul on it. The USA have 50% of its land unused. even Hong Kong has a forest. 👌 over-crowded and overpopulation is not the same thing. pick any country there a vast amount of land not being used by anyone; because its owned by 5 families. and that is the issue. AFRICA IS NOT YOUR PROBLEM
@СквозьГоризонт-м7ъ Жыл бұрын
@@cinnamonstar808 Sub-Saharian African countries haven't enough food resources to feed their growing population. All they will get is famine and refugees crisis. I don't want to see African refugees in my country. So it's better for us to reduce their fertility now then deal with them later. I think we need to invest more money to build contraception factories in Africa and start to distribute it to locals for low price. Also it's important to encourage women emancipation, they need to get more education and working opportunities so they can concentrate on career. This will reduce the number of children they have.
