I think the springs are there so you can't smash your wires too hard. This part is to give strain relief to the wires of the toolhead. I boutght some silicone bushings that can act as dampers to see how it goes. If it helps i will let you know.

There are actually 3 options 1) 2 springs. You get that terrible graph. 2) without springs. You get no resonance peak to the left 3) 1 spring. You get the same graph as in 2) but resonance peak is much lower. The third option is better. On the first glance 3rd graph looks worse but you may notice that it is only because 2nd has much higher peak and because of that other peaks looks less severe. Better look of 2nd graph is just an illusion because other peaks they are still there. Also springs reduce bearing vibration to the extent of you may hear bear ringing without spring. So you'd better leave at least ons spring. This is how at least it turned out for me. You should test that yourself before following my conclusions.
@CyberdriveAutomotive6 ай бұрын
Very interesting, thank you for your input Some people I guess have put less powerful springs in replacement of what it comes with, usually taken out of pens I did end up using a print designed by someone else that goes on the sides of the toolhead and pushing down on the bearings side profile a little bit, holding it in place, that's what has worked best for me so far I should check on my printer more while it's printing more but I very rarely do, so if it makes a weird noise lol I wouldn't know, it's in my basement which I'm usually not hanging out in I guess the top hole for the bushing is oval, which gives it some room to move around I eventually plan on doing a linear x gantry anyways so as long as it prints good right now I'm happy, and it's printing great

@@umluizlima Some time passed from my comment... So it turned out that it is really much better to replace base springs with weaker ones than to remove them. You can use pen springs cut in half. Leaving it without springs is not really a good idea. There is also second issue with this sliding bushing - it may be wedged buy plastic pushed out buy holding screws. In this case you should grind that plastic out: remove bushing and use syringe wrapped by 1000grit paper.

Crap, I knew I would have forgotten something, in the moonraker.conf file you need to count how many leds are on the strip, mine has 40 which is why you see "chain_count: 40", that number tells Klipper how many individual LEDs its controlling, which is important. In the tutorial it says "chain_count: 42", make sure you edit it to how many LEDs you have connected

how should i read those graphs? if right one is after "fix", but values there are way different. so left peaks at 0,8, and fixed one moved more to 50-75hz range but peaks at 4 times more, 3,2. and i don't know is this normal or logarytmic scaling. is there a good tutorial for input shaping and how read it? now searching for some vids in that topic
@CyberdriveAutomotive7 ай бұрын
Teaching a person who to interpret an input shaper graph is beyond my patience or ability A large strong peak is easy for the input shaper to account for One of the most important thing about them is the accel numbers decending in the box in the upper right, the before graph didn't have declining accel, it had random accel going up and down. Having declining accel is what you want. There's quite a bit of info out there on how to read these, some of the videos are pretty ambiguous though so you might need to watch a few

Will test the coming days without the springs and see how things go. I did make before prints to compare btw

I... surprisingly haven't come across much VFAs, but I've only had my K1 for 2 weeks. But... it is a little wild they just put springs where they would obviously cause excess vibrations. My belts are rubbing against the pullies and I haven't been able to find any fix for that or how to adjust it, would you happen to know? Also, smashed that like button for the quick, extremely concise video.
@CyberdriveAutomotive7 ай бұрын
Hey I appreciate that! The K1 seems to have slightly different geometry for the gantry and stuff, which can cause rubbing on the belts, you might need to loosen things up and tighten them back up square I'm not really sure though, the devil design discord would be a great place to ask though discord.com/invite/D3vil-Design

Funny, I purchased one of the first K1 released, listened to all the reasons the printer had VFA issues and have been watching all the methods to cure the VFA issues evolve. At this point after watching those with time and resources completely rebuild the K1 into machines with new gantries, motors, independent z axis, the solution appears to be to buy a different printer if you can't put up with intermittent VFA issues. Turns out you can't build a printer out of flexible material and expect it not to flex. I now have an all metal coreXY printer with no VFA, my K1 prints things that having VFA doesn't matter. Removing the springs was one of the first things tried when the K1 entered the market.
@CyberdriveAutomotive7 ай бұрын
Yeah I picked up a K1C because it seemed to be the "fix" for the K1's issues My prints were coming out really great but there was ghosting and ringing on certain features and prints, and I'm the kind of person who isn't happy with their prints unless theyre damn near flawless I'd love to build a Voron for example, I just didn't really have $1k+ to spend on a printer
@notchipotle2 ай бұрын
we can always blame their fans, they think that we should tune and fix the printer to make it usable. tuning the software is not a problem but having to realign the hardware and remove something just to minimize the VFA is really stupid. I have a print farm and I want something that just work, imaging setting up 20 printers and need to spend days or even weeks to fix them.

What does it mean never dried? I just started printing. This looks much smoother than my benchy lol.
@CyberdriveAutomotive7 ай бұрын
Filament can absorb water and it will effect how it prints With PLA it seems to be inconsequential from my personal non scientific anecdotal experience but some people would consider drying mandatory for PLA Certain other filaments like Nylon are probably different and actually do require drying You can buy dry boxes that heat the filament and suck the moisture out of it, they're pretty affordable and start around $50, I just haven't gotten one yet because it hasn't seemed like a requirement When I move onto more expensive filaments I'll consider it 3d printing is trial and error, right now though the best software to slice your models with seems to be Orca Slicer as it has personally given me the best results print wise compared to others.
