Is this isochore? Surface +- another surface.. i think the geometrical attitude of the deposit is somwhat more critical aspect to consider.. cosine correction is needed i think.. ?

It's been about 20 years or more, but my brother was working at an oil refinery near San Pedro/Wilmington when a major leak and fire broke out. One of his coworkers, not a part of the company fire department, took it upon himself to try to turn a valve wheel to to cut off the flow of leaking oil. Sadly, a sudden explosion and flash fire doomed the man. Later, when the fire was put out, the fire crew found his charred remains with the hands and arms still grasping the valve. After that incident, my brother privately said he would run if anymore fires broke out and leave the firefighting to the trained, professional fire crews that staffed the facility 24/7 and received extra pay.

LA has two refineries. One in Torrance, one in Carson. If you see so much as a puff of errant smoke from either one, head east as fast as possible!

You should clarify that this is TVT isopach - used for volume calculations. Petrel also lets you create TST or True stratigraphic Thickness isopach which is a proxy for the depositional thickness.

Great stuff. I've been working in this general area for quite some time. As a developer I'm not necessarily expected to understand all of this. But I do my best (being a theoretical physicist). The oil industry has weird units, awkward definitions and sometimes ugly equations. I like listening to his dark brown voice and his interactions with his students.

You left out the rubber that's on a bicycle is made of petroleum also and not just the plastic. In addition, the bike was manufactured using petroleum as energy to make the components and put them all together.

You made an error in the first 60 seconds of the video. You shouldn't have accepted Excel's recommended change. When you did this you multiplied by FVF (aka: Bo) instead of dividing by it. Thanks for the video though, seems like Crystal Ball is easy enough to use.

The victim in the middle of the road running ends up in that covered area and ends up in the bottom right corner of the screen crawling to the left on the ground. From what i can tell you can see smoke/flash heat puffs of smoke coming off of something which means that guy is roasting to death. The camera cuts away because he probably caught fire at that point or started to turn black, but you can tell from the 2nd bit of footage that it was just a constant flame thrower and he clearly didn't make it.

I was in a MUCH smaller explosion at a compressor station while doing a 30" tie in when we hit a gas pocket that the safety team failed to monitor. Shit goes from normal day to being throw 10 feet away surrounded by fire all around you, crawling away covered in burns, all in a split second. Happens so fast you dont even know what happened or how you crawled to safety.
