I wonder how this would work with 1.0 features and each machine now using sloops to "double the doubles", not to mentiom the bigger belts. Could you end up in a position where you almost need overflow splitters and sinks between every machine? Lol

Good stuff. I have kind of developed a love/hate thing about the lizard doggos. I have 3 now and find myself spending too much time checking what they brought me. It is just too good to ignore though. I have most of the purchases made I normally do and like 70 coupons on hold still. Maybe the only saving grace is the habitat I built for them is on the shadow of my main base so any time I need to go there I can check them without feeling toooo bad about wasted time....lol My other time wasting thing is better in some ways though. I grabbed a couple of the new paint schemes, the unpainted, copper and chrome finishes. At first I just went back with the idea to use copper on anything that related to copper, chrome for iron, the unpainted since it can be dark was for steel. But using them on different materials can get very different looks. the chrome on FICSIT foundations has a liguid blue metallic look that is awesome. Same for copper. A liguid lava red look on FICSIT foundations. I just got steel walls and going to try that soon but the time right now is just used swapping and testing looks. I should be building my factory not making it purdy....lol.

So yeah, lots of coupons mostly from the doggos and DNA capsules. Most are probably coming from DNA which I am using Loops to get 4 to 1 on. I did get a few earlier when I accidently put 25 medicine inhalers in the sink thinking they were DNA capsules. Medicine inhalers are good coupon value. I do NOT recommend doing so with them...lol

Good stuff. Watching your play maybe gave me an idea about why so many people have issues with fluids. At one point you checked to confirm that a pipe moves 300 cubic meters so decided since you needed 360 form 8 gens you needed 2 sets of pipes doing 180 each. That thought process actually leads down a rabbit hole that might be cause for a lot of headaches. Belts move items. Pipes handle volume. There is a difference. You noted that you let the volumes fill before powering up, but the thing is none of those pipes were moving close to 300 cubic meters. They were maintaining volume after filled though. That is the key. You can't think about that 300 cubic meters as moving that much but as maintaining that much once filled. That is why you only need 1 set of pipes for maintaining 360 cubic meters volume of water. You aren't moving 360 all at once. You are maintaining 360 in increments. If you check along each section of a pipe you will see that each has a certain volume. Each generator will have a volume to maintain of 50 cubic meters. The short pipe from floor hole to gen would be 5 cubic meters or close. The point is the closer you get to the gen the lower the amount of volume is needed to maintain the gen. Or lower the flow rate anyway. I think I just realized why another person I know kept having shutdowns on coal power then fuel power. He would turn them off, let them fill then flip a switch to turn all on at the exact same time. Even if only a whisper, I think they need that span of time between each pulling their alloted water in. If all kick in exactly the same time, they pull 360 cubic meters at the same time. They each use .75 cubic meters per second or 3 cubic meters per coal burned. At best if you kick it all in exactly the same time you will generate the sloch effect some. If each small pipe attached to the floor hole holds 5 cubic meters and you suck down 6 cm at the same time, 1 of those sections will starve. But the main point is don't think about that 300 cm as anything other than a maximum possible in any given moment. You are handling volume to maintain volume, not moving items. It does totally make sense though. Everyone gets used to items on belts so let slip about pipes moving volume. Trust me though. 360 cm is going to work fine through Mk1 pipes. Maybe not in a short section where you somehow need to handle more than 300 through that section but I can even imagine what that might be.
@whoisjaybugg
@whoisjaybugg 26 күн бұрын
Fluids in this game, are always a bit counter intuitive for me. I feel like I worked with the 360 is ok model once before but went back to the "items" style of thinking. All in all there is 1 power plant that is having issues. I think the issue is the short pipe right at the end. Pipe volume is determined by the length of the pipe and short pipes "might" cause an issue.
@yosemitedan7457
@yosemitedan7457 26 күн бұрын
@@whoisjaybugg Yeah, one of the appeals for symmetry for me is that if I have all the pipes mirroring each other I can check pipe A and if pipe B has a different volume or significantly different flow rate I MIGHT have an issue. The number of pipe sections between that one and the extractor can also effect flow rate so there is that. I have pretty much set in stone that the pipe from the gen to the floor hole will be 5cm and average around 20 flow rate. The advantage there is if it is off, it jumps out at me quickly. I might have built too many coal plants in this game....lol

“This is not a gameplay video” *immediately hits ‘continue’* To answer your question, I think a new playthrough is warranted. You’ve gotta try undergroundies, fuel to make cargo trucks go fast fast fast, and the new ice balance means you’ll have to race to get the ice harvester up and running so your organics don’t die. Plus you need to redeem your errant clicking when doing contracts - the number of times you sent a small package in a huge cargo pod and wasted 6k credits made me laugh. I was going to turn it into a drinking game but I would have died of liver failure 😂😂😂
