I hate auto pay. I don't think it helps me stay on top of things. Instead, I set phone alarms monthly. It really helps me know exactly what amount I'm paying and find any problems quickly.

I also set reminders in my phone for when my credit card bills are due, and make payments for those while amounts. However I set auto-pay just in case I get forgetful, and to avoid late fees. A late will not show up on your credit report unless you are 30 days late past your due date. It’s like a double redundant protection so I can keep my perfect credit score.
