Stop. I’m gonna cry. What a dream! Keep posting please! Once a week if it’s not too much! Even if it’s just a trip to the grocery store or games at home. I love it all. You’re literally my favorite KZbin channel right now as we wait for our kids from Costa Rica.

They are so adorable. I have enjoyed watching your adoption journey. What a blessing from God to have your kids home and to hear them say how much they love you! We are adopting a 12 year old boy and 8 year old girl from the Philippines. We had our 3rd video call last night and we ache for the day that God allows us to travel to go get them! It’s so amazing to watch you all interact with your kids and such an encouragement to this soon to be adoptive mama. 🥰

Thank you! And congratulations on YOUR adoption journey! Praying that the time passes smoothly and quickly for y’all! I remember those video calls being bittersweet: I adored seeing them, but not having them physically home was brutal! May God shower you with His grace and long suffering in the wait. 🤗

Thanks for the great video. :) Do they still speak in Chinese/Taiwanese to one another? I would encourage it as I really regret not being able to speak/read/write like a native. Taiwanese is particularly difficult to learn since there's very few learning materials available so if they already speak it, encourage them to keep using it. My cousins moved from the US to Taiwan at around their age and they were able to maintain all 3 languages fluently but they did continue to take English lessons while they were in Taiwan. You're doing a great job, they seem very bonded and happy and healthy. All the best!

They’ve unfortunately lost most of their Mandarin (it happened so quickly!) We do have several friends who speak Mandarin, so we’re hoping to get them tutoring starting next year to see if they can get the Mandarin back! Thanks for the suggestion!
@jazzenthuiagirl3 ай бұрын
@@andtheadventurecontinues Wow, that was fast! They did pick up English really fast as well. :) I'm sure they'll pick it up again quickly though especially if you're encouraging them. That's great that you've got some friends who speak too. :) There's lots of Taiwanese cartoons or programming that's online that's free but the best thing is they've got one another to practice with. You guys are doing great. :)

Was so excited to see these last few videos! We are waiting to be matched so I’ve been living vicariously through you. Your children are so sweet and full of life! Can I ask about their names? Are they their birth names and if not how did you decide on their names?
@andtheadventurecontinues3 ай бұрын
Thank you so much! We decided to keep their birth names as their middle names but change their first names. We chose the names Samuel and Abigail from the Bible. We pray that our Sam and Abby will love God and have the wisdom, kindness, and passion for God that their namesakes displayed! 🥰

On the front door, make sure that symbol (happiness) is the one that’s upside down. The Chinese believe that it means that happiness will literally rain from above downward. My daughter learned that from her mandarin teacher. I had no idea.

Would you consider to let them continue talk in chinesse when they do conversation between them? In my opinion it will better if they master both Chinesse and English as well. I'm glad to see your kids adapt well and may God enable Joshua and you to be great parents for Sam and Abby in God's way. Have a blessed day, God bless you all 😊

Adoption across borders cannot be easy, especially with language barriers. I’m so amazed by how well their English is coming along. Do you speak any Chinese to them? Do they ever speak any Chinese to each other?
@andtheadventurecontinues4 ай бұрын
We learned a little Mandarin and it was SUPER helpful in the early days! Now that the kids have been home for 6 months, they pretty much just speak English all the time. They learned SO quickly!

Excited to see the adjustment. :) Sorry that Josh got food poisoning... but how amazing is Taiwanese urgent care and emergency rooms? I remember the first time I had to go (allergic reaction), I asked over and over about the cost because I was worried and I saw a doctor, got a cortisone shot, medication for the next few days all within 15 minutes. And it cost me $21!! They also monitored me for an hour before releasing me. This would've been thousands in the US. Do your kids get to retain their Taiwanese citizenship? I hope you can maintain it for them if they ever decide they want to go to college there (they have university in English as well) and if they ever need medical treatment. I'm thankful my parents maintained mine. Waiting for your next video. :)
