He mainly pointed out mistakes in the interviewee's answers and behaviours. But only gave two clues to things interviewers do to indicate their disatisfaction. About if they repeat questions, or by putting down the pen or stopping taking notes. At least that's all I'm recalling at this point. Somehow I'm thinking this should be obvious unless the person just isn't so keen.

WTF. You do have calculus (2 semesters) and thermodynamics (3 semesters) as well as theory of machines (3 semesters). The only difference is the level of mathematical implementation in the work. The idea is to have necessary subjects that you will apply on the field unlike subjects like physics and bio. Also, engineers have more authority in signing off designs but when it comes to making sure the design is actually made (with change in revisions based on the understanding of what is needed to make the design from a manufacturing perspective and suppliers. Technicians also sign off lab reports and maintenance plans. Either this engineer has never worked with technicians or the education system is out of balance in the US between engineers and technicians.

It happened to me today! I interviewed with a very prestigious company for a role that I fit very well. I prepared myself for so many different questions. How I ruined it? They only asked TWO questions. "How would you explain our company to someone else?" "This is the role (explanation) do you see yourself working here?" I was expecting questions about my experience, why I wanted to work there, etc. But I could not explain even half the reasons why I was the perfect fit. They went straight to the "Do you have questions for us?" Here I got nervous since I felt pressure to convince them with my questions. I ended up asking very dumb things.

My boss ( who was not even my past manager at the time), put me on a two week "PIP" without ever giving me one on one meetings before, just out of the blue basing his performance review on feedback from senior techs, despite the fact that in almost a year and a half I only had maybe 3 escalations from customers and not serious ones, and basing it all on an oral exam I had taken with two senior techs that were overlooking the exam performance. Now, whenever they asked me to be on pager duty, I would gladly do it, now per company policy because of my "low performance" I am not able to pursue other positions within the company.

Forget the movies. The "Force" is actually a combination of gluons, glueballs, quantum fields, and projected consciousness, with the astral form able to manipulate bosons and gravitons. The Force is the field of "Zero Point Energy." Vibration of all through all. Just keep trying.

What worked for me is that I was never too much up under my parents ever since I was a teenager. I developed a reputation of doing my own thing (not disobeying my parents, mind u) away from & outside of them. When too much in ur parents' shadow, it gives them that upper hand & they start nagging you.

I’m not quite sure what goes on because I’m not there (obviously) but do you have a video or any advice on how she can sharpen her skills as the person being interviewed?

I had my 1st bad interview today. As soon as the hiring manager came on zoom and saw me, a look of disappointment spread across her face. (I am black btw) I knew she wasnt interested in hiring me on but I finished and did the best I could despite my nerves. The nail in the coffin was her telling me towards the end that she "still had other candidates to interview". Yep if thats not a clear brush off idk what is. Oh well Im gonna take a break from applying and just chill for a week or so. Good luck everyone and dont give up!

What is the best way to answer those position-based interview questions (not job/profession-based)? Thanks.
@JJ_TheGreat8 ай бұрын
6:49 For situational/behavioral questions, they might have got you with something that just was completely not on your radar... I try to come up with as many stories as I can, which cover as many topics as possible - but sometimes there will be a question which is outside your radar... For me, the most difficult type of questions to answer on an interview are the position-based (not job-based) type of questions - which relate specifically to that specific POSITION, rather than JOB-BASED questions which relate to your profession/job - which you can prepare, since you are likely to be asked that at any other interview for a job in order industry. I find it almost impossible to prepare for POSITION-BASED questions - since you don't work there and therefore, you do not know what is involved and relates to that position.
@JJ_TheGreat8 ай бұрын
5:45 Question: Is it ok to ask the interviewer(s) if we can "circle back" to the question if you cannot think of anything at the time? I did this once and they did say at the end - "and now the question which you had deferred".

I disagree with some of the statements about Engineering Technicians. You can do pretty well with a 2-year degree. Its an uphill battle, sure, and its true you have to be okay with doing 'grunt work'. But at the same time you can earn up to six figs and be respected at your profession. The keys are to have real skills that get results. Also communication is huge. I get called "wizard" and things like that on the regular by Execs -- a great Technician is like the heart of the team -- its a good feeling.
