I mean it would be better if one plays it infront of those who actually know something about the peice. Theybcan appreciate your effort. But infront of comman masses its the sound what matters to them. The skill technique is practically useless for the commoners. Hence better not play Listz infront of common masses.

There were some noticable mistakes, but overall it was a great cover. This piece is extremely difficult to play, a non-musician would probably not nutice the slight errors. I tried for months but I still can't play it that well. Well done man, You have balls of steel!

I've seen quite a bit of comments saying that the kids are laughing at his playing and I disagree. First of all, this was not a laughable performance. Most non-musicians or non-pianists wouldn't even be able to tell that he was making minor mistakes. Secondly, I didn't notice any laughing, more smiling and maybe whispering to the person next to them. I think they were smiling because they were impressed, because I was and I am a pianist.

@@EM-ue4nm exactly what I was wondering. I think it’s because it’s a ‘show-off’ piece. People who are in classical music sometimes fail to realize that ‘normal’ people cannot recognize musical skill. They can only listen to music and that’s it. It’s like, the only person you’re impressing playing la campa is yourself. Sure, you can have impeccable techniques, but if it sounds like crap, then it’s crap.

This piece is one of the worst to the musical ignorant, as evidenced by the sniggers from the crowd. It sounds really, really simple but it’s horrifically difficult to play. Unfortunately if you make a few mistakes they glaringly stand out in this piece; there’s no fat harmony to hide behind, no pedal to muddy up notes. Just horrible, finger-crushing, repeated notes. Whilst it’s mega ballsy you went for this, my main bit of advice is pieces like this are best left to music classes unless you’re superhumanly clean at playing it. You do need to play to the audience sometimes. Something like Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata 3rd movement sounds infinitely more impressive to the uninitiated: bum notes tend to get glossed over and whilst it’s still very challenging, it’s far easier than this. Plus even if you’re looking for a fast sub 3-minute performance you can play it without the repeats and it’s easy to chop and change the parts you want. Finally, it’s quite recognisable. I’m really sorry for your experience. I’ve been in similar situations before and it’s heartbreaking, embarrassing, and frustrating. Again my main advice is pick the piece for the crowd. Please don’t give up playing, you’re really talented. Best wishes pal.

I am actually frustrated by the people who laughed at him. Fr, at least dont laugh at the guy for playing LA CAMPANELLA. Its obvious his playing wasnt the best but he still deserves respect for being able to play it. Despite that, hopefully now he's able to perform to a musically cultured crowd
@Verydumbledore3 жыл бұрын
I said this before and I think it applies here too. People in classical music fail to realize that ‘normal’ people just cannot recognize and comprehend musical abilities. They can only listen. It doesn’t matter if your techniques are good. If it sounds like crap then it’s crap.
@Alwpiano4 жыл бұрын
It's a beautiful performance in spite of some errors pointed out by some viewers. I think the kids are laughing because some kids are immature and it amuses them seeing someone struggle. I think the struggle was the forgetting of the notes in some areas and some nervousness in others. It's a lovely piece and you could get away with slowing down in some areas you find hard. Especially if the audience doesn't know the piece.
