This overhaul to the sinking mechanic is very much welcome. U-Boat is becoming the equal to the great SH3 slowly but surely. There’s a hardcore audience which will be very positive about added realism, SH3 has its issues these days and I’ve encountered a host of issues just getting it to save and not corrupt campaign data.

Indeed the improved sinking physics are awesome! I'm still fairly new to PC gaming so I've never tried any of the SH series and this is my first subsim. I've heard good things though and thought about buying SH3 and SH5 to try. Ultimately the SH3 graphics just seemed a bit too dated at this point and SH5 apparently is a pain to even get to run now and needs to be played with the Wolves of Steel mega mod or so I read to be any good. So I kind of got discouraged from trying them. But I'm glad UBOAT just keeps getting better and better at least to give everyone a more recent alternative!

The problem with realistic sinking times is that the game requires you to literally witness the sinking as it happens in order to be credited for it. And much of the time you don't want to hang around, but escape. Yes, fog of war is a real thing, but a sinking can reasonably be inferred from information like the ship you hit being immobilized, and no longer being there when you return later. But the game doesn't allow for that. So if realistic sinking isn't accompanied by other changes, I will probably not use it.

Yes I thought the same thing and hoped they'd fix it. I haven't tested it out yet but the good news is it seems that they've addressed it. Here's notes regarding that issue taken from the 2nd patch since the update released... Dear captains, There is a new patch available for version 2025.1. General: - It's no longer a requirement to see how ship sinks completely to get a credit for it. We now make the assumption that the commander eventually confirms it in one way or another or deduces it from the flow of events. - A threshold above which a ship is considered a total loss was lowered. I debated what to call them but for the purposes of the video I went with rabbits because that's what Daniel Vavra and Warhorse Studios have been referring to them as. Funny enough when you hunt them in the first KCD they are called hares though.

those man sized rabbits we real, they were just aliens copying the violence of men for laughs and giggles. Humans have video games, but aliens do it in reality for fun. Look at the mentality of humans, they kill things in games because they think it doesn't matter. Those rabbit aliens also have that mentality, but they treat human life as the game.

Another method you could use that would take all that out of it is to just get the targets course drawn out after finding where it's headed. I thought about putting it in the video but it does involve basic trigonometry. You want to intercept it at a 90 degree angle so you know it's a right angle triangle. That means the other 2 sides will have to add up to 90 degrees as well for a total of 180. Use the protractor and find the Angle On Bow and then you know the angle you have to take to intercept it at 90 degrees is whatever 90 - AOB = Intercept Angle. No need for knowing speeds or counting out Km and such with that method.

Big big problem, when you reatch to a mission after press that helmet and maybe you want to take action later and press escape, all menu disapear and you canot press button of mission . All is fukt forever!
