I just traded in my 2011 F150 for a 2021 Tacoma. I would say the downsides that are mentioned should be taken very seriously. The truck feels drastically smaller, way less powerful, and only gets about 3mpg better than my old truck. I honestly probably will go back to f150s when its time to upgrade.

if i run your old setup with 285/70/17 + 4 offset, but do a 3in lift instead of a 2in, do you think i would have enough room if i also put on a bull bar?

@JordanMcKeithan3 ай бұрын
@@SukhwinderSingh-gz5qk thank you! Sure thing. The prices really depend on what you are willing to pay. Mine is more of a budget build in a way but it could be done cheaper than I did it or waaaaaaay more expensive. For example you could get a very simple spacer lift for like $300, it’ll cost probably close to $800 for install if you can’t do it yourself. Then for wheels are tires that’s up to you and how much you want to spend. All in for a build like this, you are looking at roughly $1,300-$1,550 all together after parts and labor.

@@HRIDOYOFFICIAL76 great question! They’re very similar tbh. Claymation is less “sticky” feeling than this product. The texture clay by forte is VERY sticky and can pull my hair at times due to how sticky it is. But the texture clay has more hold than claymation because of that. So it’s up to you and what you prefer (high firm hold vs high hold but more flexible)

I'm late to the show . But man i loved my Tacoma until i started wanting to go with 33s . Its crazy the amount of maths and decisions you have to make to get the perfect ( In my eyes ) setup . Its like Toyota intentionally made it hard to put a 33 inch tire on them . My 21' Tacoma is a everyday driver until hunting season . I don't go out and rock crawl with it - I have a TJ on 35s for that , so the few times i tried to get some real life do's and dont's and you don't want to run 265/70 all terrains .. You now have a mall crawler lol the Tacoma community is by far the most toxic and i love it 😂 I have 265/70/16 BFG KM3s and it just doesn't look right . They look way to small for my truck . A 33 or 35 is proportionate

currently running stock TRD rims with a +30mm offset, 285/70/17s with a 3.5in lift kit. IF I didn't have these 1.5in spacers in they would be a nightmare on the rubbing issue, currently they rub on the cab mount. With the 1.5in spacers I currently have a -8mm offset and it just so barely rubs on the cab mount while full weight truck and turning all the way left or right. Would getting a wheel with a negative offset such as in the range of -12 thru -20 fix my rubbing issue with the cab mount? I don't mind trimming the fender or plastic parts, what would be annoying is to do the CMC in general. I hope that running -12 thru -25mm offset wheels will fix this problem. Please let me know :)

After having the Overland Torque Tune installed on my 23 TRD Off Road, double cab, 6’ bed with the Premium and Technology pkgs installed, the automatic transmission Stopped “hunting” for gears, the torque kicks in at 2K RPMs and the horsepower has increased from 278 to 302 and I’m getting 1-2mpg Better fuel efficiency.

@@JordanMcKeithan It’s worth Every Penny. Since I’ve had my Taco done, a friend of mine who has a 23 had his done and another friend is going to get his 19 done. I really recommend the OTT.
@tcuster554 ай бұрын
Does that put more stress on the engine? If it increases torque and gas mileage why doesn't Toyota have the programming from the factory
@Doc18554 ай бұрын
@@tcuster55 Because of emissions regulations. The computer is programmed from factory to up shift ASAP for less emissions, but it lugs the engine down, so the transmission is constantly changing gears. There’s a hill that I have to climb every time I go into the city. Before the OTT, my transmission would immediately down shift from 6th, into 4th, then back up to 5th, then down to 4th again and repeat this process until reaching the top of the hill. Now after having the OTT installed my transmission down shifts into 5th and stays in 5th until reaching the top of the hill. This reduces wear on my transmission. Installing the OTT increases the horsepower by 25 as well as the torque. I also installed a cold air intake. My Tacoma TRD came with the TRD Performance exhaust system, but when I can I’m having an AWE , true dual exhaust system installed. It’s more expensive, but it’ll allow my engine to “breathe” easier. A true dual exhaust starts with the exhaust manifolds to the rear of my truck. Other “dual exhaust systems” start out with one tailpipe and then splits med way back. So the exhaust system starts with dual, then goes into 1 pipe, only to split again. The AWE starts with the dual exhaust manifolds and has a separate pipe throughout the entire exhaust system. The AWE doesn’t have a “drone” noise that a little of other exhaust systems have, but still has a nice tone. Did this help you out with your questions?
