Most overhyped game for me was wukong. It just didn't feel like a complete game. Yes it looked nice but it's just a boss rush. All and all I think it wad overhyped.

On Civ VII, they’re making some drastic changes to pacing by adding in Ages. There’s three throughout the game and each time you change leaders/Civs. It’s a divisive change that I wasn’t on board with to begin with, but I’ve grown to get excited for it. Only time will tell if it actually pays off but it’s fun they’re trying something new!

Balatro isn't a game to get into really it doesn't really have that type of weight. But its definitely an ultimate side game to throw on in between things. Why hasn't path of exile 2 been mentioned? Is there some sort of beef?

I think it’s time to move past calling these people “voice actors”. They do so much more than that. Voice acting is a very specific thing and most of these actors are doing voice, motion capture and face capture. I’ve seen a couple clips where they get slightly irritated about being called “voice actors” because it really sells short what they do.

Great fun to listen to again, thanks :) For batteries though, I think it's pretty obvious your expertise is in games and not in the tech 😅 battery tech is improving all the time, if you compare our current date batteries with 20 years ago it's night and day. But because it's all small increments it doesn't feel like we ever get those revolutionary improvements. Also we are using more power all the time... That may sound like hardware is getting less efficient but it's more that we're just doing stuff that used to just not be possible. My gaming laptop 20 years ago lasted maybe 15 minutes in a game! You just didn't game without being connected to the wall, not on a pc anyway. That we now have a pc in our hands and can play for hours is amazing. As for the steam deck discharging... I'm pretty sure that steam deck was just actually only in suspend and not shut down. And it's actually amazing that it does last a couple days in suspend! Don't forget that this is a full pc. How long does your laptop last in sleep? And compare to x86 machines, not the new snapdragon for windows, those do last longer in sleep. The battery saver mode in the bios is meant for long storage, transportation or servicing the device. You need to connect it to the charger to turn it back on so that you don't accidentally turn it on in transit, or worse, when you're disassembling the device. I actually think the battery life of the steam deck oled is amazing, but I often play older games that don't stress the device as much. Even then though, something like GTA V I could easily play 5 hours. Really older games can go up to 8. But yeah more would be nice, especially for newer AAA titles. But we already got that. The Ally X has 80 Wh, up from 40-50 on earlier devices. The MSI claw AI8 or whatever that thing was called does too. I think that will be the new standard going forward for the more high-end devices. I'm hoping the legion go 2 will have that as well as a (rumoured) 8.8 inch oled and better ergonomics. If it also has high refreshrate, vrr would be even better, and 24 or 32 GB of ram and manages to be 900 at most I think I'll get it (pending reviews).

Very highly rated game on a lot of journalists lists which was easily missable by so many people was UFO 50. It is some of the most fun I’ve had with retro inspired games since shovel knight. Each game in the 50 game collection just oozes personality. Highly worth checking out!

Regarding being treated as a cheater when you say you were falsely banned: it's similar to someone with a criminal record telling you that they are innocent. It's just never going to sound legitimate unless they know you personally. It's the first thing people say when they are accused of anything, guilty or not. "Innocent until proven guilty" wouldn't have to have been invented and written into law if this was how people behaved naturally.

Sorry to say, I actually liked the Muppets and I observed many others did as well. I have watched many reactions about the award show and surprisingly ACG is the first I see to recieve the skit negatively. I thought people uniformly love to see Geoff got roasted on stage.

Katamari wasn't at the show!!! You are not good at this. Also, these takes are so wild, I've watched at least 8 different major/well known "outlets" coverage, and so many exact opposite takes. Also y'all should do some "homework" before the show like a professional and know about the topics/games, so much misinfo

Onimusha is making a comeback! Hell yes! I'm there day one!

The lack of knowledge is astounding sometimes. People remember Okami as ‘the dog game?’ Nope, I remember it as an excellent Zelda like with amazing art. It’s a very very good game fondly remembered by those that played and enjoyed it.

I didnt love the new Naughty Dog game (i cant remember the title too btw)trailer not for the "woke stuff" ( i dont see anything overly woke in it and i loved TLOU2 and the Lost Legacy, loved all their female protagonists). I found a bit outdated and already surpassed the 80s vibe, the single color choice for the trailer(red everything, reminded me of a red Scalebound) and the product placement e.g. Porsche and Adidas(it grounds the game in OUR universe, though in the future, but i find it immersion breaking, also.). But im sure it will be a quality game and cant wait for more . Mafia TOC will be my most awaited from the show. Rly cant wait to see actual gameplay.

Techland is the most generous company I can think of gaming support wise and longevity wise. I remember back when I use to pre order games I had pre ordered dying light 1 ages in advance. About a week before it got released they delayed it by nearly a month. As a sorry to everyone on (xbox one at the time) they gave everyone who had the standard edition ( this was me) a free season pass for the dlc. They supported they game for so many years too eith additional free content and support.

Man, they never correct Karaks pronunciation, ever. Great podcast though guys! Also the graveyard thing for astrobot comes from one of the executives saying they don't have enough ground up IP, but at the start it was spread around as the executive just saying they have no IP, so that's kind of where it started and dropped frames if I'm remembering correctly walked back the graveyard term after he was corrected on the executives quote. Also, I enjoyed the old muppets this time. Also, Okami is a pretty heavy cult classic for a few reasons, and it's a big deal because of the director's return to Capcom and Clovers Studio, the director went to platinum games worked on the Bayonetta games and eventually was pushed out personally because he felt he was stifled by the direction of platinum after Bayonetta and given okamis artistic value and Bayonetta larger appeal its seen as a return to form to something great. It's one of those if you played Okami years and years ago you likely loved it and then it was silent forever, other great games like that aren't mentioned much at all anymore besides the occasional “This is a masterpiece” forum post. I'm sure you guys have to know of other games like that given your love of games, similar to Onimusha to some degree maybe less of an audience.

I never played Okami but it's one of those games that I just vividly remember seeing so much at the time as a kid. It's still on my list to play. And just as Silver said, I strangely associate it with Katamari Damacy as well.
