You will be asked industry related questions and about your work experience. You can get familiar with the units you are assessed on in the skills assessment.

Currently serving in the navy, currently specialising in diesel marine diesels, what is included in the theory interview? Is it just questions about your day to day job? Or would it include questions about thermodynamics for example? And what is included in the practical? Would it be routine tasks such as adjusting tappets/water pump changes?

Hi mate... I am already an Australian Citizen with educational background in Mechanical Engineering. Due to having an International education which is not recognize in Australia I applied for a Trade Assistant in one of the biggest mining of iron here in WA. One of my job is helping the heavy diesel fitters on the job with heavy mobile equipment. I would say I am gaining experience and learning the trade. Will i be eligible to apply for an RPL in future to be recognize as a fitter?
