At this point, bot hosters are a hydra. Even if doxxing omegatronic magically deleted all the bots from the game, it's already been proven that tf2 is utterly broken and another hoster can easily take his place. The point of #fixtf2 is to fix tf2, because tf2's gaping hole of security is what got us into this mess. the point isn't to witch hunt people over a damn video game. when you showed the discord call footage i lost my shit and laughed, these people really think they are in the "morally good" side while calling each other r*tards? it makes you wonder if the tf2 community deserves a better game when they keep acting like children, also for the people who really think doxxing the guys behind the bots it's a good reason, do you ever thought about the consequences of going after these guys? they will retaliate for sure, they will make sure to be even more anonymous than before after these doxxs attempts. that will make the situation even worse in some way. (VALVe is the one who should go after these guys, but we know they wont, it's wishful thinking at this point) this whole situation is proff that the TF2 fanbase is his worst enemy, no one takes then serious. dont get the wrong ideia, i REALLY enjoy TF2, but the game is already dead, what is left is a community where almost everyone have some strong egos and keeps creating stupid drama to seek some form of validation, and then use the good folks who create good content around the game as a form of shield. the SaveTF2 wont work, we already tried that, VALVe is Busy creating a new game which they will prioritize over TF2, VALVe is also busy with CS2 because the game is incomplete as hell right now, (it will get better for sure, if you dont think so, have you ever ported a game to a new engine? it's super hard, Source 2 is much different than Source 1, it will take a while for the game to be in good shape) and especially, VALVe is a small company, TF2 is in life support by a a couple of part time contractors, they already have ported the game to 64Bit, which is HUGE in a way. the image of the TF2 community is forever tarnished because of the leaks and the extremely toxic community, i think VALVe just gave up and just wants to move on, because if there's one thing that valve doesnt like to do is living in the past, so to be even more clear here, what i said is not an emmotional response to the topic, these are facts, and the facts point at a future where TF2 is left on a limbo. the game will live on with the community servers, but i dont expect any updates from valve, unless they do a complete remake of the game to source 2, which will solve a LOT of problems with the game because it will be easier to work on the codebase, and having every project on valve using Source 2 should makes things more efficient and easier to work on, but now we are again at the "wishful thinking territory", and as i said above, porting a game from a old engine to a newer one is not easy. tl:dr : the informat garl there is one piece of a larger problem, her actions contributes with the current status quo of the game... and tarnishes the view of TF2 even more, all online games have drama but TF2 is a special case.
