I can only wish I had appreciated this more back in the day.

The TV producers used this music and ridiculed it at the same time. What's with the overalls? In real life, men singing this music for their communities would have been wearing suits and ties. And what's that thing in the background supposed to be? A pile of rotting hay? Unfortunately the corniness and poverty are remembered, not the joy of the music.

Are you saved? Do you know for sure that if you died today you would go to Heaven? You can know. As a matter of fact God wants you to know: "these things have I written unto you that believe on the name of Christ that ye may know that ye have eternal life". Jesus died on the Cross to pay your sin-debt. He paid a debt He did not owe that you may be free and declared innocent at the Bar of Heaven. This is the greatest news ever to grace the ears of man. Gospel means good news. Christ died for you, dear reader. Are you saved? Have you come to Christ? He will save you today if you come to Him & trust Him completely and entirely for your pardon before His heavenly Father.

When my dad and rhe Gladheart quartet sang this in my younger years so much was just good music and words. Now that I have some years on me and they are all gone the song has real meaning.

Growing up Sunday nights heehaw was every Sunday. Listening now bring back so many memories. It's gonna be my pleasure to see them when I go home. If you don't know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, you won't be seeing them. Today's the day you can be saved.

I hear this and remember the golden years of my childhood and Granny and granddaddy listening to hee haw and on Sunday to the gospel jubilee. I'd love to sit in the floor of that simple but great old house and smell that north GA oak burning in the wood stove and just see them again

My mom and Dad used to frequently sing this at home when I was a lad. Dad had played in a 3-man country/bluegrass group in the 40’s. And Mom sang the backup on this song. She was a part of a singing duo “Jean and Christine” on live radio in the 40’s. The station DJ was Murray Hamilton who later became a movie actor ( he played the mayor in Jaws). How I wish I had recorded their harmonious voices, but they have “Gone Home”. As I grow older, this song frequently comes to mind. Miss you, Mom and Dad.❤️🩷❤️

As a child I heard this song performed several times on the porches of my Uncles and Aunts. I can hear their sweet voices joined by the voices of my parents floating through the air up into the trees of the Blue Ridge mountains. Best memory ever….
