Great honest review! I own two Outback’s, one 2017 model and one 2019. Zero issues with either. I’m not a very big guy, five eleven and 175 lbs and these Outback’s hit the sweet spot for all categories. I have previously owned a 2016 PA 14 and was awesome when my kids where small as they could literally stand on the back and fish bank beating like a bass boat. Now they are taller than I so didn’t need the extra space and weight, hence two Outback’s. A bit sad to see Hobie getting so much hate, but ppl who have actually used them understand that they’re is no drive as good as the mirage..bummer the early 360 where not tested properly before putting it out to the public…but that’s on them!

How is the battery life full throttle? According to Newport, NK 300 @7mph, battery run time is @ 0.2 hrs, and with a range of 1.1 miles, 😩
@basskayakandbeers89314 күн бұрын
That depends on the battery you are using.
@ar15gator14 күн бұрын
@ Just went back to dealer, and there isn’t a big enough battery that can perform all day, especially with full throttle for great distances. So getting a small 2.5 or 2.3 outboard with an extra 1gallon gas can, to refill if need be while traveling across the waterways, back and forth to the hotspots.

IMO - Those incredibly sticky hooks on the MB require a soft rod. I've watched too many fish bent those out. The McStick(?) is tough. Strong hooks too. Lucky Strike pointer is a great mid-market bait. You can lose two LS for the cost of one MB!

@basskayakandbeers89329 күн бұрын
@@jender7 I think better option is going to be defined by style of fishing and bodies of water. My best option based on that criteria is a PA14 360. An angler fishing creeks and river would probably prefer a kayak suited for that, hence “a better option”. In my personal opinion.

The only way I was able to catch the large smallmouths in the fall was trolling a deep diving crank. trolling it keeps it in the strike zone a lot longer and allows you to cover a lot of water.
@basskayakandbeers8933 ай бұрын
Agree I’ve done that a few times with good success. Specially around dams. Unfortunately most tournaments don’t allow trolling baits. But definitely agree with you on its effectiveness
@pmm4223 ай бұрын
@@basskayakandbeers893 I know the boats don't allow it but that was because its not fair to the co-anglers. Our Kayak trail here in the PNW does not prohibit it. I don't think there is a real legitimate reason for prohibiting it in kayak tournaments.
